i am ready for whatever happens next.
-----
i told you there would be more.
first, i just got the email that jim sent out about the STAGE/theatre majors/minors/friends meeting on friday, regarding "More announcements." i can't imagine that people don't already know mike is leaving. there's word about even more faculty considering resignation. and they've cancelled the summer theatre camp- susan signed that email "peace and justice."
also, um... protest materials were dropped off at the mail center this morning, right before the meeting with president holst. eric and i had to leave for work about 5 minutes before he got there, so no word on that, at least not from me. start writing letters if you haven't already (me). and somebody (stephanie) should let us know what happened! i don't know yet what the next step is going to be. tim said there are at least five pieces about this topic in the next issue of the sword (tim, but the way, just committed to being the editor-in-chief next year. he's following in eric's footsteps). i'll have to get my hands on a copy.
second, i'm ready to move. i like the house and love my roommates, but i'm looking forward to living someplace where i don't feel the need to have the door locked even when i'm home. the old neighbors were weird, but the new ones are pretty much insane. i don't know who told them it was okay to just walk into strangers' houses, but i'm pretty sure it's not. our open-door policy applies to friends only. and you know, we found a place we really want, so here's hoping we hear back soon.
plus, and this is sappy, i'm seriously looking forward to coming home to darren every day. or him coming home to me, whatever. i love the kid; it'll be nice to have him around more than just on weekends. oh, and you know what else will be nice? not having two other cats around eating my cat's food. jack is getting fatter.
and finally, i know you hear this all the time from me, but i am so ready for a new job. i'll stick this one out as long as i have to (not gonna lie, i'm almost looking forward to working on my birthday because i know for a fact there will be cake), and i'm utilizing the benefits, but oh man. i'm working on it.
i think that's it. for now. i guess ultimately, i'm just anxious about a lot of things. so it goes.
*edit: totally just got an email about the apartment. now i need to scrounge up deposit money. yikes. **edit again: i guess president holst said he was going to call randy and let him know he can break the contract and talk about this if he wants to. awesome! stephanie was there, she can say more.
