Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits, and Are melted into air, into thin air; And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a tack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep.
- Prospero, William Shakespeare's The Tempest
eric, stella, amanda and i met with amy gort and eric lamott this morning. it was nice to be able to express our feelings about the situation, but frustrating because they can't, and won't, say a word about it. we got a lot of "we know this is going to be a diifcult transition" and "thank you for sharing" but i don't know that any of us were satisfied. it was good to talk to them and i'm glad they were willing, and are willing to listen to anyone who expresses their opinion of the situation. but we're not finished with this.
faculty and staff in non-administrative positions are more candid without actually saying what they're not allowed to. we talked to susan hanlon after the meeting, and i sat down with mike a little later. eric talked to sheri speer. faculty/staff aren't taking this lying down, either. that's nice to know.
susan does a lot of work with skylark opera, and they haven't made any official decision about what they're going to do. it depends on how it's going to affect them- if actors or directors (randy) aren't willing to work at csp, then they won't.
that's what we have now. we're working on what happens next.
