a new day to face the hard things [16 Mar 2008|01:53pm]
as a break from the negative, i would just like to say that darren and i are master chefs. we successfully made homemade chicken fettuccini alfredo. totally made the noodles and the sauce and everything. today, we're using up the leftover chicken fo something awesome that has yet to be decided.

oh, and we have two excellent apartment prospects. the one on grand seems like it's pretty much guranteed, but it's second choice to the one on randolph. the one on grand is bigger and it's a slightly better location, but the one on randolph has a sweeter kitchen, a bigger bathroom, free wireless, and the only utility we'd pay is electric.

also, darren is thinking about joining the air force to be a military police officer. he's already done two years in the army. not sure how i feel about this. he says it would give his life more direction, plus it pays well and the military would totally pay for our rent and his car insurance. and if he was deployed anywere it'd only be for a max of about four months, unlike any other branch where it would be closer to a year or more. downside, it's the military. and who wants to fight in a war they don't beleive in?

we had to go to target last night, and stopped at concordia on the way back to see rebekah, who was working in the costume shop (everything they have done for pirates of penzance looks great). it was good to talk about this whole randy situation a little more with someone who is still a student. now that the facts are starting to come out, everybody's figuring out what to do. it's going to be an interesting rest of the semester...

this entry is all over the place. time to go look for more chicken recipes.

**edit: chanhassen dinner theatre and skylark opera have decided that they're no longer doing busines with concordia.
