i know i said i was going to use my tax refund to pay off my credit card. instead, i used about 60% of it to book train tickets and a three night stay in st. louis for me and darren. why? because we both need to get out of here for a while. work is making me insane.
so we're leaving on the 28th at about 8:00 am and getting back at about 10:30 pm on march 2nd. thursday and sunday are going to be spent entirely on trains, with brief stops in chicago. on the way there i think we'll be in chicago for an hour, and two hours on the way back. enough time to say we've been there and maybe grab some pizza. or cheesecake.
we're staying at the ws hotel. i got a pretty swwet deal on cheaptickets.com and bought the train tickets seperately, of course, through amtrak. i need to call and confirm the reservation, though... especially since we're not getting in until 10:30.
i just got off the phone with mr. tom sewing. he informed me that there is a great piano bar in downtown stl, so we've already got something to do one night. city museum per kate's suggestion and and previous blog entry, and well... the arch. of course. and whatever else.
wee! i'm excited.
