"the spiderbite song" - the flaming lips |
] |
i was listening to the radio in the shower this morning and they played "if you're gone" by matchbox twenty. the first time i heard that song was in tenth grade, at their concert in mankato with phoenix and her dad. it was right after mad season came out and i didn't own it yet, so of course i hadn't heard the song. good times.
this isn't a prelude to some long post raving about my love for matchbox twenty. of course not. it's just that i started thinking about how i haven't heard the song in a while, and realized that it's because pretty much the only time i ever really listen to it is when it's part of a depressing playlist. yep. i make playlists for times when i want to wallow- post-breakup is the best example. it's funny, because if you look at my last.fm profile, a lot of the music i generally put on those lists is overall pretty heavy on play counts. it's because it's good music.
( what might one of these playlists look like, you ask? )
anyhoodle. i'm currently browsing craigslist for one bedroom apartments in los angeles. apparently brad's ready to not have a roommate anymore. why he asked me to help, i'll never know. north of wilshire, west of vine it is.
in other news, "douchebag" has become an all-too-common word in my vocabulary. however, i'm not sure i'll be doing anything about it any time soon.
