| these days its hard to tell what's out in front from what's behind |

so, you know that observation day i mentioned? i pretty much rocked it. in the hour and a half i was out by myself, i raised $153. my goal for the night was $35. yep... totally rocked it. so monday i start the training period. in order to successfully complete the training period, i have to average quota over the course of a week, twice. i have a few weeks to do it, and once i do i'll have made staff.
during the training period i'll make 66% of funds raised up to quota, or $60 a day- whichever is higher. once i make staff i'll make $88 a day plus 35% of any funds raised over quota (quota, by the way, is $130), so long as i maintain staff fundraising standards. if i don't, pay falls back to trainee pay. and if i'm completely awful for too long, who knows. could be the chopping block.
so it's kind of complicated on paper, and not exactly stable. but it's definitely interesting work, and the hours are as such that i'll be able to do internship stuff in the mornings. i have the opportunity to be involved in some pretty interesting diologue with people. and my coworkers seem pretty neat, which is great. my boss, joel, seems pretty cool. definitely listens to good music. and his boss's brother is the drummer for cloud cult (which i can't stop telling people).
anyway. supposedly this house is close to bike trails by the river. thing is, there are a few things between the house and the river. like a railroad track, a highway, another railroad track i think, and a power plant at one point. perhaps i should take some time tomorrow or sunday to figure out where these rumored trails are.
and have an early-evening beer, because we can't all be lucky enough to have may oktoberfest moktoberfest at work.

there was a denny's commercial on tv a second ago and i totally thought they said something about "come try our date rape platter."
i think what they actually said was "day break."
i think.
