so. my mom's had all kinds of health issues lately and i kind of lost track of what was going on. she messed up her shoulder and she had that pus lump thing removed from her neck, and there was something wrong with her throat. that's what i knew.
then today i talked to my grandma (my dad's mom) and she was asking how mom was doing, and i was like "well, i haven't talked to her in a week, but fine." and then she made some comment and i was like, "wait, what?" and she said something about maybe they didn't want me to worry, or something like that.
right. what the hell. so i called home but nobdy answered. a few minutes ago i called kyle, who informed me that mom was in wisconsin (visiting her parents). so i asked what the deal was. turns out the thing with her throat was tumors. one was nothing, one was something. they were small though, like fingernail sized, so they were able to remove them without any trouble.
then they found one on her tongue. it's even smaller than the others, and they're going to zap it with radiation.
so really, i'm not worried. but still. my my mom's entire immediate family has has some kind of cancer. those are the shittiest odds ever. fortunately, it only affected one of them on a long-term basis. she'll be okay.
still though... mommy.
she's going to be here friday, hooray.
