| i dreamed a dream |

monday night i had a dream... someone, i don't know who, had decided to curse me and kate. at some unknown point in the near future, we would suddenly begin falling - we would be continuously free falling in perpetual darkness for four months. so, as freaked out as we were, we decide to do a little planning, despite the fact that we didn't know exactly when the falling would begin. we figured we'd be able to bring things, if timing worked out and the thing was in our posession at time of fall. wanted to bring a couch. every once in awhile there would be a sort of flash forward sequence where we would be falling; the darkness wasn't so much dark as it was a sort of black tube, and we the falling was more like floating.
sometime during the planning stages we realized that we'd been mistaken, and the four months was actually four years.
i woke up quite relieved that it was only a dream. a little pondering led me to the conclusion that the dream was, perhaps, a metaphor. not sure how i feel about that yet. that is to say, i would've been okay with a more optimistic dream.
