The reason this journal goes un-updated for months on end is because every time I come back to Blurty and attempt once more to start posting my entries, I can reach the main page and log in and post maybe one entry just fine, and then everything bogs down...update page won't finish loading...journal won't finish loading...Blurty's main page comes up just fine, but heaven forbid I should try doing ONE LITTLE THING with my own journal.
I gave up sometime last year, left for quite a while, then came back to try to update. Got only through a few entries and had to give up; it was taking far too long. One shouldn't have to click "Refresh" repeatedly and wait maybe ten minutes for one stupid page to load. Especially when one's online time is limited, and one has better things to do, like write. (I write mythological/furry-anthro/yaoi fantasy items, BTW, if you're interested. I'm from northern Michigan, interested in Egyptian and Ojibwa/Chippewa mythology, and I LOVE Mackinac Island. Gave up again. That was August 2004. Just came back, April 2005, over half a year later, to try again. SURELY the site must work better NOW?
Nope. I got through ONE entry without trouble. Second entry I try...loading...loading...loading...I finally got it to show up but it takes just too damn long to even bother anymore. I remember the site not being like this, back when I first started my journal here. What went wrong? I don't know, but whatever it is, it's been over half a year and it still hasn't been fixed. I even seem to remember reporting something in one of the forums but a lot of good that did. I don't even know if THIS entry will post.
No one reads this version anyway. If by any chance you cross this and are for whatever reason interested in what you see, you can just find me at LiveJournal. And Diaryland. Even my OpenDiary works better than this site, which is something I NEVER thought I'd say.
Just look me up under tehuti_88, Tehuti, and Lord Of The Eight at said sites and enjoy. Or not. But at least you should be able to load it more than one out of five times you try.
Tar until whenever I should be stupid enough to try again. Maybe in another year. Maybe not ever.
