i realise that i can change with a snap of the finger. yes that versatile you say. not change as in changing from your fixed regime, habits, character, but momentary changes. either that or youre just numb, oblivious to everything else. or maybe even just locking your mind and nodding away. that helps a lot. for the good of the community and social connections its good to do that even when you dont want to.

sometimes you think about being a better person, appreciating the people and things you value a little bit more, stop being so whiny about current circumstances, read books and learn a little bit more other than academics, but then you end up going back to old ways and you question why? but it only lasts for mere seconds, cos there isnt enough strength to continue questioning and improving. or you just dont bother because after that the status quo still remains. only when change sets in you start worrying and by then its too late.

you question if its about being in the wrong place wrong time, or if it just boils down to yourself. sometimes you are so convinced that youre just plain unlucky, but there will always be a nagging feeling acting a a reminder to how you refuse to admit your own shortcomings instead. then you start fighting between these two and get stuck in the middle. but it will be quite scary if the latter should prove correct. then theres nothing else to fall back on since being yourself is basically the only thing you truly have.

okay so lets see yet ANOTHER one year plus hiatus and here i am again. its like blurty has some special force that keeps drawing me back here and i dont know why! i hope the one year away from blurtyland hasnt remove my humourousity. or whatever you call it. uni life has def changed me into a more BORING and MUNDANE person trying very hard not to go rip off those little miss sunshine/lazy/talkative/happy/busy/skinny/anorexic i see every 5 metres i go. but no i dont. i just take a longer look at them and decide that they will regret this fashion crime 3 years later like how i realised flowery knee-length pants with yellow trail slippers were never the way to go even if i look 18% girls 98% male. but then i learn from my mistakes so they will learn theirs too. and i saw in one of my older entries that i didnt like men in their 30++++ with long sleeved shirts and tailored pants. yeah i think i should clarify that there are two kinds. the ones at raffles city with ties ending at the 3 ribcage bone and the ones who are teachers and doctors who of course fall under my list of "men worthy of making me conscious of my breathing".

i went to mad jacks to eat with lous just now and i saw aliland but i didnt mention it to her then cos i mean cmon that would be like telling a rapist to come take off your clothes which FUNDAMENTALLY means your life is over. so i just quickly glance away hoping he didnt see me and at the same time acting normal so lous doesnt suspect anything (but then again thats not too much of a problem since her....cognitive? skills are a bit slow. no not cognitive. u know what i mean) so yeah after that i msged him and told him i saw him and he said oh im the chef now LIKE OKAY i didnt know if i should say "congratulations on your promotion?" or "WHAT youre stick working there???" so i just said oh cool so i ate your food. haha. then he said next time i go there i should tell him so i can get "freebies" hahahahahahhahaha i dunno why but the first thing i thought of was moisturizing sachets and packets of xuan's favourite gummy bears.

i watched da vinci code today with laurelle and natalia. its quite overrated la the movie aside from the gorgeous architectural buildings and cultural sites the movie was a bit too draggy. but im glad tatou didnt make out with hanks because he is simply not good enough for that french babe. i love her pouty lips! so french. i love french.

i used to think dave matthews was the most boring band in the world catering to the 30 -40 year old working adults looking for some chillout songs after a hard labourous day at work BUT i am TOTALLY wrong i tell you. this song, #41, is seriously the best song in the world. dave's voice is soooooo charming! and not to mention the fantastic technical aspect of the song. after learning drums, at the very least being able to identify the respective sounds the different parts produce, i realise this song has fabbbbb drums beats! ESP those hi-hat beats omg u have to have detachable wrists to do them man. wait la, one day i will master the song. one fine day. just some.....day. speaking of drums, i played the compulsory unchained melody drum part. it has to be the most agonising 3 mins of my life i tell you. though its a midi file without the cheesy lameass lyrics, the TUNE itself is sucha a freaking turnoff! i seriously feel as if my chinese has improved tremendously. i mean, though it was only a very short trip to hk/china, the need to articulate myself in chinese fluently in order to achieve a successful bargain has helped me to become more chinese than EVER. now i can go to cartel's kitchen and wow everyone! but thats not really the point. monolingualism is very important. makes you sound intelligent, switching from one language to another, as the china chinese spitters can attest to. the trip was fabulous, thanks nat! and nelly too. anyway, digressing, i was just thinking back on the NUS open house. we were at the cca booths and we were stopped by these 2 people from one of the halls and one of them was this super muscular guy. and like, so muscular and toned and short and bronzy and whatever you call it, but i was freaked. HAHAHA yes i was freaked. why? I HAVE NO FREAKING IDEA! he was really friendly and nice, and while the girl was talking to laura and liv, he was standing next to her and I KNEW he was looking at me cos i could see from the corner of my eyes and he was looking cos i wasnt being talked to by the girl and i guess he wanted to save me from desolation but i was so scared cos of his muscularity omg i need to have a fullstop. okay. he was so muscular and....i think it was an excess of masculinity, i dunno man, but it was a moment of feeling really freaked. but i was cool, on the outside at least, i just continued looking at the girl WHO WAS TOTALLY IGNORING ME and concentrated on her so hard i felt my vision blurring. and this guy gave us a free copy of teenage/teens (i dont remember) and being a typical singaporean i was like WAH free mag can take and read! but it was quite embarrassing the cover was this guy called rain and it seriously looked like those typical mags that girls from first toa payoh will read. but i endured it, painstakingly carried the mag home while ensuring that the name of the mag was obscured from the public eye. and i finally reached home safely, happily scoured through the pages, and realised that THE BLOODY MAGAZINE SUCKS, and threw it away after 5 mins.
