cleaning twitter [24 Oct 2009|12:32am]
Realised Twitter is not as fun since I have to scan through all the tweets and look for relevant ones. Which was brought about by me following a lot of people so I had to unfollow so many especially those Saturdays girls since they tweet so much. :(

Oh well.

Grown ups should tell horizontally challenged kids that if they continue eating they will have a problem getting laid. At that early age kids should learn about SEX.

T.O.P.

I think his name is really just "T.O.P" without the "." at the end of the "P" but I find it awkward so I've been referring to him as T.O.P. (with the ".") in the end.

My LJ is now full of Big Bang/T.O.P. blabbering I thought I'd save some for Blurty.

I want to go to South Korea NOW NA!!!!!!

things I learned from my recent trip to Sydney [13 Jul 2009|03:45pm]
[ mood | lazy ]

1.) If there's a K-Mart in town, you need to go there ASAP. The biggest mistake was not going to K-Mart and buying proper attire for the weather. I should have checked their store hours prior to going to Australia. We ended up spending AUD 400 on useless coats and sweaters from this store we passed by in Berrima because we had no other choice.

2) Packing t-shirts is worthless - I realised (just now!) that if it's cold where I'm going, I prefer wearing blouses because I know it's the only time I can get away with it. I also don't need to pack a lot of jeans because I prefer wearing leggings over them. 2 pairs is enough for a one week trip.

3) Bringing my Jansport backpack was a good idea. Starting June 2009, Sydney went on to this green movement by asking buyers to bring their own bag or pay for an eco bag starting at AUD 1 to AUD 2 depending on the size. If you go to the Aquarium or Wildlife World, they charge you AUD 5 for it.

4) Staying at the Medina Executive Sydney Central on Lee Street was a damn good idea. I can't imagine staying somewhere else except Mercure which is right across the street. It's near Broadway (shopping), Darling Harbour (eating) and George Street is just a walk away. Going to the railway was easy as it's right beside it. Literally a minute walk.

5) If you're going to Sydney, wake up as early as 5 AM as the shops/attractions open as early as 8 AM and close as early as 5 AM. We started our second day at 8 AM and barely made it through the list of places we wanted to go because they close so early.

6) Buy a one week pass for the "RED" zone which allows you to ride the bus, ferry and train altogether if you're just staying in the CBD area. If you're going to Manly Beach, you have to pay for it specifically.

7) Actually, wake up at 4 AM. Then go to Bondi for breakfast. They start their day at 6 AM.

8) I should have bought more chocolates from Darrell Lea. They're easily the cheapest, best pasalubong you can give to your friends and family if you don't want to exactly scrimp on the idea.

9) Paddy's Market is the BEST place to buy them souvenirs. Since you're just going to give them away anyway, buy your stuff here. Don't think - just buy if you see something for 2 AUD. But my mother wouldn't listen so we had to pay double for souvenirs we bought at stores/shops on George Street. Hmp.

10) George Street is "THE" street in Sydney. You can get lost scouring through in one day. Wake up as early as possible - stores open at 8 AM and close at 5 AM.

Hong Kong proven fact [17 Jun 2009|05:23am]

It is still cheaper to fly to Hong Kong via Cebu Pacific versus taking a Philippine Airlines flight even with the add-on's (additional 5 KG fly out and fly in; seat reservation at 300 PHP per flight) included.

However, it is more expensive to fly to Hong Kong via Cebu Pacific if you're going to book your ticket close to your departure date. Philippine Airlines is more forgiving for people who make spontaneous decisions to fly and can't make future dated plans.

I still prefer flying via Philippine Airlines though. NAIA 2 is 10x better than NAIA 3. Plus since it's a small airport, the walking that you would have to do to get to your boarding gates and back is minimal compared to the trek that you have to take when you take a Cebu Pacific flight or PAL Express.

Sigh. This is what you get when you're obsessed with travelling but you have no money so the next best thing is to just check for flights.

I officially hate my job.

1) I work with old people - they think they can boss me around.
2) I don't know how to talk to engineers in engineer talk - I'm not one!
3) Being a girl has its disadvantages - you got no one to discuss bags or shoes with apart from the odd gay man whom you're not close to.
4) It's graveyard - and it's not worth it.

prolonging the agony [06 May 2009|09:37am]
So against my better judgment, I contacted the Australian embassy which cost at PHP 32.00 ++ per minute. At least I officially got word that today, 6 May, is the 4th working day.

The operator, Michelle, said give it until 7 working days.

I can't stand it. I hate waiting. The flipside to applying for a US visa is right then and there, you know if you got approved or not. I'm not saying that's the better of way of doing it cos rejection is never pretty. I'm just paranoid because of my upcoming Cambodia trip even though that's still on the 21st of May.

I should just really stop fretting.

ring tone [05 May 2009|11:15pm]
I need to change my ring tone. It's still Britannia High's "Wake Up" until today.

I'm thinking Britney Spears's "If You Seek Amy" - which btw, I only got to find out what it is recently. Kainis... if you seek Amy nga naman.

Susunod diyan, "See You In Tea". Pwede, di ba?

waiting...waiting...waiting... [05 May 2009|07:33am]
[ mood | scared ]

Texted tracking system of Air 21, found out the documents got to them the morning of the 30th of April.

April 30 - working day 1
May 1 - working day 2 - if they don't follow Philippine holidays
May 2
May 3
May 4 - working day 3
May 5 - working day 4

This is agonising.

TV Shows [05 May 2009|05:06am]
Random post about the TV shows that I watch.

I used to do this a lot when majority of my time was spent on blogging. Heck, I had my own domain, my LJ, my AML (I think I got 2 of those), my Blogspot and Blurty.

Good times.

1) Grey's Anatomy

2) Ugly Betty

3) Cupid

4) Gossip Girl - only because I started watching it, not because I really like it

5) America's Next Top Model (when it's on)

annoyed [03 May 2009|03:34pm]
Sometimes I don't think he knows how immature he's acting. Just because he doesn't want to spend time with his family doesn't mean that I share the same sentiment with him. Besides, getting to that place was such a major bloody chore that for him to dispense it as something trivial is a little insulting, really.

Do I miss him? Sometimes, I do, but sometimes, I really don't.

Is it so bad that I want my weekends to be just about me and not about someone else? I felt like when Drew was still around, I lost all of "me" and it's just nowt hat I'm trying to reconnect with who I am again.

So I'm sorry, I'm not at your beck and call anymore, but it's time that I put myself as the priority. Besides, it's not like I promised anything. I haven't broken anything.

the agonising wait [03 May 2009|03:18pm]
Last week, I submitted all the documents that I have got with me to the Australian Embassy. It's been an agonising wait indeed and it has been the majority of my thoughts for the past couple of days since I submitted it.

I read online somewhere that it can take up as quickly as 3 (working days) to a month which scares me since I am going to Cambodia on the 23rd and the idea of not having my passport as early as next week is making me anxious. Also, when I read "3 working days", I got more nervous because Friday was the 4th working day the embassy had my application (I reckon 1 May is not counted as a working day since I figured, the embassy is following Australian holidays) and I haven't heard from them since. I check my Gmail account every day since that's the email address that I gave them and ticked that option that they can communicate with me that way.

All this time I thought I submitted my application on Tuesday, only to realise that it was Tuesday (MNL time) that I made the call for them to pick up my documents at San Roque and they sent the courier (via Air 21) on the Wednesday (MNL time) so technically, they only have got my documents since Thursday.

That was quite a relief in a sense. A little bit of rationalising on my part as well thinking that's how it went. But nevertheless, I just really hope the documents got to them in good condition.

Now here are the reasons why I think I should be given a visa:

a) I have a job
b) I have a US visa (not that it's required but I'm hoping it's a plus)
c) I am a traveller - as you can see on the stamps on my passport

Here are the reasons why I think they would not grant me a visa:

a) I answered certain questions there as if I was answering a slum book.
b) They might think that my bank account balance was too low.
c) The application form did say to write in BLOCK letters. There were questions where I forgot that part and answered in proper case letters. Stupid me.

At any rate, I'm still nervy. I really want to go to Australia.
