Like a comet pulled from orbit Does it seem right that David Bowie and David Beckham both scored higher on the "Great Britons" list than Charles Dickens, J.R.R. Tolkien
and Henry VIII? And I realize that J.K. Rowling is talented and deserves to be on this list. But J.R.R. Tolkien has proven to be enduring, something that 'Harry Potter' hasn't had a chance to do yet. At the same time, it's not the most scientific list ever so I will quit my griping. Without further ado,
The List. It's been a bittersweet 24 hours. I went to my first minor league baseball game last night, the St. Paul Saints vs. the Joliet Jackhammers. For $8, I got my ticket, a free hot dog and pop and a quality St. Paul Saints hat. The game was decent, we cheered on a former CSP student but the entertainment was far beyond what I had hoped for - although that was dumb as Bill Murray owns part of the team. Apparently IT (or church workers - because the majority of our group are such) can be a rowdy bunch. Needless to say, we were the only ones left in our part of the stands by the end of the game. It was a good time though.
This morning I said goodbye to Wade. I'm not entirely worried, since he's going to Kuwait now and not Iraq but it's hard seeing people cry, it's hard to start the day crying and it's hard to say goodbye to such a good friend. God's peace.
I've taken up reading things on Wikipedia while I do monotonous things like replace motherboards. A lot of it has been about England. Go nerdy me.
