the past two nights have been weird. in my evening appointment-keeping and errand-running, i ran into old friends (OK, so to me, old is someone i haven't seen in over a year. is that wrong?) at three random places: the vet, a toy store and a book store. and the whole it's-a-small-world business has actually ... put a smile on my face.

i think this is going to be the most interesting summer yet.
