so i'm at work. i don't really know why. i was told that i really didn't have to come in today, what with the snowstorm aftermath turning my neighborhood into a big, ugly ice rink. i probably came in because i figured that updating my journal from work is a far more promising idea than doing it from home. at home, there are DVDs and other distractions to keep me from getting anything done. therefore, at home, writing in the journal is the work. however, in my office, where i'm supposed to be editing this prison directory, writing in the journal is the distraction. do you see the distinction?
either way, i can't really say i'm doing anything productive anyway you slice this pizza. which sort of sums up life throughout the extended weekend: a whole lotta nuthin'.
there was snow. there was shoveling. there were movies. lots of each. i put a nice dent in the stack of unopened DVDs i have on my movie shelf. i think i have three to go. of course, time would've been better spent, oh, i dunno, finishing the icky glen burnie sidebar. hey, i know: i'll do that tonight! (sigh.) i was able to get out for a bit on saturday afternoon, in between storm systems, so i rented some titles from blockbuster. 8 women kinda sucked (cut out the cutesy musical numbers, and then we'll talk), but i think i am on the verge of becoming dangerously addicted to queer as folk. i haven't been able to spin CQ or the dangerous lives of altar boys yet.
jen and i were talking sunday. we decided that, since we're both trying to get healthy this year, we would steal deb and jamey's bet idea: no fast food for a month. i don't really remember how we defined "fast food," exactly, but i'm sure it was funny, it being jen and all. (i think we said that fast food always had a super-duper-extra-value-biggie-size meal option, excluding subway, which will be a cinch for me since i don't eat there.) so we've allowed ourselves one (non-fast food) restaurant meal a week. we'll go until march 16, and the person who breaks the pact before then has to buy the other person dinner. preferably not fast food.
