so i'm sitting here writing the glen burnie piece for the sun, and i'm all sorts of irritated because, let's face it, glen burnie is just not interesting. yet, somehow, i've managed to string six paragraphs out of historical information like when places were built and what names glen burnie was called before it was glen burnie. (myrtle is one. seriously. myrtle, maryland. how dumb.)

so i've more or less reached the easy part of the piece -- the part where i get to go off and talk about all the fun stuff there is to do in glen burnie nowadays. so i'm about to call it a night and just finish the article tomorrow after work. i can do it, no problem. hell, maybe i'll do it during work if i get especially bored with the prison directory.

but as i lay me down to sleep, one of those silly survey forward thingies.

29. looks the most like a celebrity? brandon. or jason. or owen. they could be movie stars. or michelle. or steph. or olga. or ... god, any of them. i have too many good-looking friends!

30. is the person you miss the most? adam. so bad it hurts.

so i just read on NME.com that blur is auditioning a couple of new guitarists to take graham's place, because, well, the new album does need to be played live, and how can it be played live without a lead guitarist? i was really looking forward to this new album. blur's first in four years. and now, my reaction to its impending release is just blahness. to me, it's not really going to be blur.

can you tell i'm bored again? now that i'm over the stomach flu, i have some sort of head cold. i sound horrible, and i feel really weary. and it's not even 11 a.m. yet. i most certainly do not want to be editing this jails directory. if i can just occupy myself until lunch, it's usually all downhill from there. i'd love to just crawl in bed when i get home today, but i need to finish my glen burnie article.

this is one of those nothing entries. i don't really have much to say. it's just that writing in here is keeping me from working, and i soooo don't wanna work right now.

i'll end this on a cheerful note: yesterday, while scouring glen burnie for the last time before writing my article, i stopped by target. guess what i found? those little plastic animal glass-markers that people use to tell whose drink is whose at cocktail parties. and they were on clearance for $1.98 each. i love those things. i remember a few years back, steph and i found them at the limbo lounge at marley station -- a little baggie of like 10 for $4. i didn't even drink or really have parties then, but i thought they were so cool that i had to buy them. so yesterday, when i found them in target, i bought five boxes, and there are 125 markers in each box. now i just need to have a big-ass cocktail party so i can use them.
