After the first part of today's soccer, I feel my prospects are crap. Toward the end we did a lot of 1 on 1 games, all of which I lost. I actually won one, but it was really a tie, but I scored first so really I won. Maybe I did so crappily because suddenly my throat closed up and I was still playing? Good thing that happened at the VERY end. I just burst out crying. I wanna make the team really badly, and I hope enough people quit that cuts aren't so drastic this year as they seem.

Luckily I'm not as out of shape as last year.

Only two more hours until scrimmages begin. And it'll be tough because I'm in the "Last Year's JV + Varsity" group (which I was in for the 1 on 1 mini-tourny) and everyone of those girls are varsity caliber as far as I'm concerned. I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY SOCCER dear god.

Pre-Season Day 2

What we did: warm-up + stretch, volleys, moving dribbling exercises, ab work, cone drills, sprints, 1-on-1 games, cool down.

Stuff I did well: warmup and cooldown stretching (score.), ab work

Stuff I did mediocre-ly: volleys, dribbling exercises, cone drills, sprints

Stuff I did crappily: 1-on-1 games

What needs to be done: figure out why my throat closes, work on getting the ball past a defender (put back to defender perhaps, faking moves?)

DAY 2 COMPLETED [23 Aug 2004|06:16pm]
Man, I better lose weight from this! I never do! I lose more weight PIGGING OUT than doing soccer for 6 hours a day. Sad.

So about how all of the juniors keep quitting!! We had a lot for freshman year. Then last year, Liz decided to join tennis and I think a few others didn't come back. THIS year, Grace isn't playing, Ashley isn't playing, Lauren isn't playing, Amanda isn't playing, and maybe some others.

All the hardcore ones left are really hardcore soccer players (duh). I feel like a beacon of idiocy standing in the middle of the field because I was a moron and ate TWO TACOS before the 2.5 hour scrimmage. Yeah.

NEVER EAT TACOS BEFORE PRACTICE. NOT EVEN WELL BEFORE PRACTICE. BECAUSE IT REALLY COMES BACK TO HAUNT YOU.

Next Wednesday is cut day. DUN DUN DUN.

But anyway, I just ate a HUGE amount of mashed potatoes, spinach, and a huge amount of salmon. I feel like I'm allowed to eat like this now, but it's not going to help me lose any kind of poundage.


OHH yeah. We did ab workouts today which were okay thanks to pilates. Yay.


My tanline is horrible!

I'M SUDDENLY REALLY NERVOUS ABOUT SCHOOL AND ITS WORKLOAD. THREE WEEKS LEFT.
