Due on Dean's Date, which is Tuesday:

Physics essay, 5-6 pages, by 12 noon.
Status: not started, not even thought about, but I DO have a very vague topic! 1% done.

Music Theory take-home final consisting of chord analysis, form analysis, and commentary, by 5 pm.
Status: I wrote over 3000 words in commentary. I just cannot stop myself. It's about 85% done.

Baroque music essay, ~15 pages, by 5 pm.
Status: Well, uh, I have an 8 page very rough draft and right now I'm in the process of extracting important sections from all of my sources so that I can incorporate them later. 50% done.

My dean's date is about average for workload, it seems. Before, I always had less because I was in more Examy classes. This time, I only have two final exams. luckily a WEEK away from dean's date so I have time to recharge.

life [11 May 2008|01:19am]
[ mood | dorky ]
[ music | Jephtha oratorios ]

It's reading period, and I'm also terrible at working. But whatever, because EVERYONE HAS TO LOOK AT MY NEW FACEBOOK ALBUM simply because of the cowpie/model picture(s). Let me explain.

Tonight (err, well, Saturday night) was the Rugby Spring banquet, when all rookies are required to dress as something retarded and do retarded things or else get punished. The banquet's theme this year was Wild Wild West, and the rookies had the dress as cowpies (with one of us being the cow).

We were getting prepared for this shindig outside of Cuyler (dorm). Also outside of Cuyler? A photoshoot for some new Ralph Lauren collection (I'm assuming fall...). They were all over campus all day, but at that time they just happened to be in the same general vicinity. At first, they were sort of obscured from us, down the steps and behind trees. We were painting our faces/arms with brown paint and applying fake bugs to our brown outfits and rolling in the grass to look as much like POOP as one can look. Of course, the photoshoot goes and moves right next to us.

Immediately, the people in the photoshoot were wondering what the crap we were doing, no pun intended. One of the photographers asked us, and we told them about rugby rookie initiations. And whaddya know! He tells us that their new line is rugby-themed, and shows off some rugby stylings of the model's clothing.

The models that were waiting for the one model girl to get done her shoot (in an entryway that was occasionally used by bewildered students) were staring at us the whole time. Eventually, the male model, who was ridiculously good looking, came over and we told him what we were doing and why. He kept commenting on how beautiful the buildings were, and I agreed but told him the inside was much like regular college dorms (sort-of truth, at least in Cuyler it is). So now I can officially say that I talked to a male model. You know, in case it comes up in one of those surveys.

The female models came over a few minutes later and asked for themselves. I think one girl ended up translating our answer for the other girl. They laughed, and went back to being beautiful. We all hated ourselves, but continued applying centipedes to our skin.

We had to run over to Frist for details about our rookie scavenger hunt, but we couldn't resist asking if we could have a picture with some of the models. Some woman told us it was okay, (the models could hardly understand us) and took the picture for us on my camera. WHICH IS NOW ON FACEBOOK.

One of the dudes at the shoot asked me if I could stop by the Ralph Lauren store on monday to give him the picture (where the crap do I get it developed around here?). I'm SURE it's going in their next catalog...

In real life, I'm incredibly behind on work and really stressed out. I typed "stressed up" first.

In time for exams. [10 May 2008|02:25am]
So now there are 22 cases of salmonella at princeton. There were 6 cases a week ago.
And "over 70" cases of people with gastroenteritis? How am I not sick?

You know where I learned this from? Random local news, not Princeton themselves. They just intermittently go "oh hay guys remember to take showers! People have salmonellosis now!"

Looking up your heritage on urbandictionary.
Even mixes (like Irish/Italian) are on there.
I learned a lot about myself, haha. Never realized how much Italians and Sicilians hate each other. And how black I really am.

You can apparently consider me 3/4 eggplant.

Creepy [03 May 2008|01:25pm]
I was looking up synonyms for "strength" that would fit nicely in a sentence I'm writing, and it gave me common phrases using the word "strength". Well, it gave me one:

PHRASES
on the strength of: she got into Princeton on the strength of her essays because of, by virtue of, on the basis of.

Is this telling me how I got in? Because I still can't figure it out.

DREAM! [23 Apr 2008|04:44pm]
So I always have the best dreams (read: dreams I can remember) during naps. I just took a three hour nap and this is what I can remember:

First, I went to a supermarket with a bunch of friends. I was walking down the aisles by myself when I saw some meat (not refrigerated). I picked a package up and saw that it had like an electronic text box in it, that said "Ellen Mcgeoch", and when it scrolled it talked about how her dad was basically Elliot Spitzer. I confronted Ellen but I forgot what happened!

Then I came back to the supermarket again with my mom and sister. It was very crowded. I was sneaking past people ahead of Katie/mom when this old, rich-looking man stopped me and accused me of "bringing all the old people in" though I denied it, saying no one was with me. I then tried to run ahead of him so he wouldn't see that Mom and Katie were with me, but this big black woman was staring at me and being in the way. Katie started to yell my name and I feared for my life.

That's all I can remember! Basically it shows i'm racist, ageist, and that I love gossip. Joy.
