The truth about marriage
Portuguese girl band Nonstop, who competed in Eurovision 2006!You know, people quite often ask Geoff and I when we are going to get married. It's nice and funny and cool and annoying, depending on who's asking and what mood I'm in. I don't know about you, but when I think of marriage, I think of cooking breakfast together, sharing book collections, the sun shining through green leaves, lazy Saturdays and lots of laughs. I think more about the relationship rather than the wedding.
Anyway, even if I may be evasive about engagement plans, I am sure of one thing. For me, it's not about buying a house or sharing bank accounts. When I get married, there is one thing that I really, really want to do. And that is this...I want to cuddle up with my husband on the sofa and watch the Eurovision contest together, and make sarcastic comments about the performers! And I hope that the man I marry will totally understand that when you watch Eurovision, it IS possible to laugh both WITH and AT the performers. Like, I totally cracked up when I saw Portugal's performers, the girl band Nonstop- their dancing and singing was a total tackfest. Like, they were a cheap version of the Spice Girls, I guess like the No Frills brand of spices you might buy at Franklins. But while I was laughing at Nonstop, I still kind of wished that I was in the band! I mean, come on- pink tutus and pop songs? It's totally me! And their dance moves looked like fun!
Somehow, I know that Geoff understands all this. I mean, hello, Geoff owns the Ronn Moss album. I haven't spoken to him yet about the Eurovision thing, but I am sure that he will say yes.
Are we a perfect match? I hope so. Let's pray about it and see...
