    CHRISTMAS MADNESS!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to YOU, dear reader! Hurrah!

Well, I thought that I would do a bit of blogging to calm my frazzled nerves. And indeed, it is working! Ah, me. I have spent the past two days shopping like a madwoman. Yesterday, I was okay, but today I became supremely grumpy. There were people everywhere at the shops, and everyone was walking too slowly! And lately, all I can think of is how I have to wrap gifts and cook! Argh!

I am now officially on holidays from work! I spent my first day of holidays at a job interview. It went really well. The women who interviewed me were really nice, and it seemed like a really friendly place to work. The position is a web editor/management role for a local council. I had to do a little test during the interview- I had to rewrite an article on waste management. I actually enjoyed it- it was nice to write about the importance of recycling. I even drew a picture of a little worm eating an apple core, to represent how the council sells worm farms to its citizens.

You know, I never really understood why people called Christmas and New Year's "The Silly Season". But after finishing off a year of work, I think I get it. I just lost the plot. I started turning up at unpredictable hours. I began procrastinating a lot, pushing my tasks into that elusive time frame of "next year". And everyone was just acting silly. A few work friends gave me presents, which was really nice. My boss even gave me a hamper filled with champagne and lots of yummy Christmas food. I showed my little brother all the food, and he said, "Why are you leaving? Look at all of the food they gave you!"

If you're going to see a movie this week, don't see "King Kong"! My parents saw it on Tuesday night, and they came home all flushed and excited. They told me how it was amazing, and that it was A Very Important Movie To See, just like "Jurassic Park". As my parents don't usually rave about movies, I went along to see "King Kong" on Wednesday night. I will say that the special effects are fantastic- they are so seamless that they just look real. But hello, a little bit of a plot goes a long way! The film was so repetitive- the characters get attached by giant bugs, then giant slugs, then giant dinosaurs. I did read that one of the highlights of the film was Anne Darrow's relationship with King Kong. When I read that, I was like, "Ew, he's a giant APE!" But after seeing the movie, I can slightly understand what the critics meant. Like, what sort of a girl wouldn't want a giant, buff ape/human who would battle monsters and freaky people with rolling eyes, just to watch a sunset with you? Mind you, I kept thinking that King Kong probably didn't have a giant Rexona can hidden away on the mountain. And a little back waxing can never go astray. But, again, I will reiterate: He is an ape! Ew!

Anyway, readers, I hope you have an awesome Christmas, filled with lots of good food, friends, presents and maybe even carols! I like celebrating Jesus' birthday. I think that it's even cooler that He is always with us when we celebrate it, too!
