Lists from the good ol' days Mmmmm, there's nothing like catching a cold to earn you a nice day off. I have spent the day at home today, alternately trying to get out of bed, eating, reading, watching TV, writing e-mails and calling my boyfriend (twice). I was initially excited when I realised yesterday that I was sick, because that meant that I could stay at home the next day. However, the buzz tends to wear off a bit when you find yourself with a never-ending headache while you are watching a documentary about weird old ladies who like to dress up as Shirley Temple.
Anyway, I couldn't resist this challenge from my blog buddy, Meiying (who writes a stellar foodie blog:
http://bowb.pitas.com):
1. Delve into your blog archive.
2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
3. Find the 5th sentence (or closest to).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag 5 people to do the same.
So, here is what I wrote on Friday, May 2nd, 2003:
"Things I have not achieved at all today:
> buying a swimming costume (now that I'm going on a beach holiday, I need a swimming costume that doesn't come off in the surf. Unfortunately, the beach holiday is during winter, and all of the stores have unanimously decided that the weather is in fact not warm anymore, hence making everything in the shops all woolly.)
> doing any real uni work."
Fascinating! Intriguing!
In case you were wondering, it was a bit tricky trying to find the 5th sentence, seeing as I'd written nearly everything in point form that day. So I decided to choose the 5th bullet point instead. Oh, and here is who I choose to challenge: Nichi, Geoff, Anthony, Sally and Meg Cabot (I KNOW that Meg Cabot doesn't read my blog, but a girl can dream, right?).
In honour of posts of the past, here is a nice juicy list for you all.
THINGS I AM DOING TOMORROW
> Goind to the podiatrist
> Going to a wedding (it is for two of Geoff's friends)
> Wearing my new blue dress (this deserves its own little sentence, because I LOVE this dress so much! It is pale blue and frilly, and just a touch trashy, which I just love)
THINGS THAT CARLA GYPSYGIRL DOESN'T LIKE RIGHT NOW
> Stars who get too skinny- it makes me really, really sad
> My boyfriend getting a shock when he gets his phone bill back, because we speak about 4 times a day on the phone
> Having too many late nights
> Knowing that I have a gig coming up in 4 weeks, and not having any new songs, and also having forgotton all of my old songs, AND all with a sneaking suspician that I actually am not very good at singing or playing the guitar- did someone say "AAAAAAAAAARRRGH!!!"?
> The prospect of seeing a semi-ex-boyfriend again- double argh!
> Not being able to find dairy-free chocolate at many places
THINGS THAT CARLA GYPSYGIRL LOVES RIGHT NOW
> Shorts (not that I have been game enough to wear them this season)
> Sequinned scarves worn as headbands- so adorable
> My new Sony MP3 player (I love putting it on shuffle- it's like I'm listening to a radio station, and it's all about ME!)
> My Indesign computer course getting cancelled- yesssss, a refund, AND no more late nights!
> My boyfriend- SO adorable and nice and sweet and smart, etc!
> The semi-trashy look- that is, flouncy and short skirts, slashed t-shirts, bed hair, black eye make up, strappy dresses. I am NOT referring to Paris Hilton or Jessica Simpson. Yikes! I mean the look that The Donnas and Anna from "The OC" (though she left ages ago) have.
Woo hoo! It is practically the weekend now.
Lots more exciting adventures coming up!
