Going south!
Dear faithful readers,
I just wanted to say a small goodbye...I'm heading down to South Australia for twelve days from this Friday (the 3rd of December), and won't be back until the 14th of December. I'm so excited about going! I even ventured out of the house in the forty degree heat today in order to acclimatise myself to South Australian-type weather. I was going for a swim, and as I walked to the pool, I had to keep reminding myself that I was an active, sporty woman who lived in a carefree way, and that I was, in fact, quite exotic. Mostly I was trying to make myself stop caring about the heat so much. Apparently it can get up to forty-six degrees down in South Australia! It's going to be really cool...I'm going to be helping to run a Christmas program with a church in South Australia, PLUS I'll be singing at a carols night there. The whole point of the trip is to let people know how fantastic Jesus is, and I hope everything goes well. But I know that whatever happens is what God wants to happen, so that's pretty cool to know.
I feel like I've neglected my dear readers quite a bit lately- I haven't been updating as much as I've been wanting to. I'm sorry. So, here's a brief update on everything I can think of:
SOCIAL LIFE
It's looking more exciting- I might finally get my driver's license by the end of December! Hurrah! Also, I'm going to see The Donnas on my birthday- hurrah again! I love The Donnas! Go feisty rock chicks!
LIFE AS A ROCKSTAR
Also looking up, because I get to do another show when I get back from South Australia! Look out- a dedication may be coming YOUR way!
WORK
I think I need to find a full-time job, because I'm still getting really lonely at home. I don't think I like working in childcare as much as I used to. The constant smell of wee and poo is beginning to finally bother me. Plus there's only so many times you can yell stuff like"Stop hitting him with that chair, it's really not very nice, it's hurting his feelings, I'm very angry!" and "Put your pants back on!" without getting very, very cranky.
HOME
My rockstar brother just finished the HSC, so he and his friends are hanging around the house a lot. My other little brother got to stay home today because it was too hot to go to school. Hey, how come that never happened to me?
LOVE LIFE
I went to have pizza with Nancy the other day, and we were trying to decide on what topping to get. There was one called "Michelangelo", and I jokingly said that I loved Michelangelo, and that he was my boyfriend, and that I didn't mind that much that he was dead. Nancy then said that it's okay to have a dead boyfriend, because her pretend boyfriend is Nehemiah. I asked her who Nehemiah was, and apparently he's this really cool and noble guy from the Bible. But I suppose if I was to have a famous artist boyfriend, I don't think that I'd choose Michelangelo. I'll have to think about that more. Sorry to tease you, readers. I'll give you a proper update about love stuff when there's actually something to report, ha ha!
ART
Yeah, speaking of artists...I've been seeing heaps of exhibitions lately, and it's really, really good for me. It's infiltrating my pores, and making me more productive. Hurrah!
BOOKS
I was trying to read "Sons and Lovers", by D.H. Lawrence, but it kept getting really sad. So then I switched over to "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason", by Helen Fielding. I'd read it before, but I laughed so much during the movie that I had to watch it again. And oh my goodness, it scares me reading that book sometimes, because I can see bits of myself in Bridget!
