    gypsy experiments
I'm still in a New Year's kinda daze...I got home late last night, and was awoken this morning at around 7am by everyone else in my family making a whole lotta noise. I was still feeling quite rosy from the day before, so I didn't get too cranky. Plus, their comments ("He should have sung 'Climb Every Mountain!'" and "I can't believe it...I just can't believe it") indicated that they had woken up early for a worthy cause- the World Idol results! Though I was not interested in leaving my bed.

I had the best New Year's Day EVER in my whole life yesterday! Meg and Jonathan and I went to the Botanical Gardens for an impromptu picnic, then to Coogee Beach for some sunbaking (it was 5:30pm, it couldn't have been bad for you), then to Bondi for yummy Thai food, then more walking around the beach. Meg and Jono are such lovely people- I respect them and adore them so much! They definitely kicked my year off to an excellent start. New Year's Eve at Chrissy's was different from what I expected, but still lots of fun. It was very laid back. Lots of talking and good food and warm lighting. Chris has cut off all of her dreadlocks, and her hair is this faded purple colour- very cool and alternative, as usual. I forgot to bring my swimmers, so I ended up kind of standing in the pool instead, with the water up to my ankles. I found out that if you drink coffee (a warm liquid) while your feet are in the pool (a cool liquid), nothing happens to you. It is the same also if you drink lemonade and Frangelico (a carbonated liquid) while you stand in the pool (a still liquid). Though I still think that it was a worthy experiment.

Yum, hamburgers for dinner! Beachmission's tomorrow! Spontaneity is the new black, I tell you!
