conspiring for a soul-mate moment My sister was part of the "Australian Idol" studio audience last night. It was my heart's desire to see her standing up in an obsessive frenzy, holding up a badly spelt or grammatically incorrect sign (e.g. "YOUR MY GUY", or "SHANNON U ROCK"), and possibly screaming. But alas, my sister is both too smart and stylish to do something so trivial and embarrassing. As usual, she bagged some seats one row back from the front. You see, whenever we go to gigs, she usually comes back all rosy, saying "I was so close! I touched him! I was at the front!" whilst I usually get shoved to the back-ish by scary tall guys who jump around a lot. Though Derrick always protects me in the mosh and threatens to beat up drunk guys for me, which is what little rock star brothers are for, right? Anyway, my sister was on TV for a split-second, looking quite angelic and happy but not daggy in any way. Good work, Sonya!
Once she came home, she sat around with me as I fixed the colours and stuff for the photos of her debut catalogue for her fashion label, bella*darcy. The photographs are highly spunky, and feature Sonya's girlfriends laughing and running about and just being gorgeous in general. Sonya and I had lots of fun fixing the photos, and it felt like we were conspiring together to ambush the world with her fabulous designs. Though I know that I have to stop designing soon! I've only had one night off since my presentation, and even that didn't really count, because it was spent in all the noise and busyness of my baby brother's birthday. I just saw Nancy and gave her her illustrations- she loved them, yay!
I had a brief soul-mate moment today. I was waiting at the lights to cross George Street, when I saw this boy across the road who was wearing odd socks. Though I myself am not wearing odd socks today. I look very much like an impoverished rock star- not enough sleep, bad posture, dark eye make-up, and lots of pink and denim and stripes. |
