miss invisible
I have a new nickname. It's "Miss Invisible". I went in to my work yesterday to apologise for never being there, because I'm always sick. I saw Philippe, and he said, "Hello, Miss Invisible."
I have my usual post-semester cold at the moment. Which is a bit of a bummer, seeing as the semester isn't really over yet. But I'm so glad I didn't get sick while I was making my book.
Despite my illness, I did venture out to Jo's Halloween party. So many people went as winged creatures! Sugi made the coolest bat. I was so excited about being a fairy (as I always am) that I forgot that Halloween is meant to be about being in the dark and being creepy and stuff like that. The bands that performed were eye-opening- I discovered that one of my classmates has a secret identity that is only revealed when in possession of an electric guitar. I liked looking around at everyone in costume. It was like being in that pub in Harry Potter- I turned around to see the silhouettes of two witches at the bar. When I was waiting for Meg at Central Station, there was this middle-aged plump lady, sitting there wearing black cat ears and a bow tie. I have to say that my personal prize for best dressed goes to Nichi, who came as the spunkiest bee I have ever seen! She went to so much trouble. When I told Scott that I was going as a fairy, he said, "So how are you going to look different from how you look everyday?" Which I realised was true, because at the party, Irene asked me, "Where did you get your clothes from? Did you hire them?" And I replied, "Um, no, these are actually clothes that I wear on a daily basis."
I keep forgetting what day it is. Hopefully I'll remember what day I'm supposed to present my project. |
