    Time Event
    5:34p
a new outfit, a performance, and the backstreet boys
What's a girl to do after she puts her book in for binding? The book that, dear friends, she had been working on for six months or so? She hits the high street and buys a new outfit! Well, I don't really think that Pitt Street Mall is the high street, but it'll do for a design student who hasn't let herself buy anything new ($2 tutus don't count) for a long time. I have to say that I needed new clothes more than I needed those Converse shoes. Isn't it funny, though, how whenever you go window shopping, you see all these things you're crazy about, but when you have the intention of buying something, you can't find anything? Anyway, I needed a new skirt and top, and for once I thought that I should buy proper clothes instead of buying dodgy clothes and then "fixing" them. Like, my last denim mini was this longer skirt I bought and then hacked. But then it shrank in the wash. Anyway, I found this funky funky pleated denim skirt that's not a mini, but not a knee-length skirt, either. I am such a fan of pleats at the moment- I love the schoolgirlish, cheerleader effect they have. Then I bought this awesome punk-rocker pink-and-black striped t-shirt. Yay! I was so happy on the bus ride home. I couldn't believe that I made my binding deadline.

I haven't felt quite so peachy today...I'm still tired, I think. It's really scary, actually, what stress can do to your body. I'm having second thoughts about my adventure to South Australia (which I still haven't explained to a lot of you), just because I'm so tired, and I really think that I need to stop and rest.

I had such a fun day once I got to uni, though. I finally decided that whether or not I had the guts to do it, I HAD to sing my song to my class, because it was really important to my project. As I left my house this morning, my mum shouted out all of these tips: "Sing so that people can hear your words! You're really good! You've been practicing so much! Don't forget that I'm your biggest fan!" Anyway, everyone loved my song! Isn't that nice? I was sure that there would be this awkward pause after I finished strumming away, and then Andrew would say, "Um...perhaps don't do that for your presentation." But they all said that it fit in really well. Everyone was so supportive, it was wonderful. And very exciting- that's the first time that I've ever sung and played the guitar in front of people, who were there just to watch me, all on my own. God is really good. Scott ended up sitting in on my class to see me sing. Isn't that nice? And, as usual, he laughed during my presentation. Which I'm used to, in a good way.

    Spacegirl Princess Carla, going home.
