that was quick! Never fear, friends, Spacegirl Carla is back (somewhat) on Planet Earth! I spent most of the weekend freaking out about how little time I had to illustrate my book, because I thought that it would take two weeks to bind it. But then on Monday (yesterday), I called my binder, and found out that it would actually take them only THREE DAYS to bind my book! Hurrah! So that means that I have an extra week or something to illustrate my book! Yay! God is so awesome. I was getting all prepared to begin my Design Orbit, but it looks like I can still function as a (somewhat) Normal Person again. I'm still working hard, though.
I think that it is so cool how God can still use me, even when all I do is sit around at home nearly every day doing uni work. Like, I've been having these really great conversations with my sister about Him, and my friends still call me and talk to me and stuff. It's so great. It makes me really happy to talk to my friends and family about their lives...it reminds me that that's what life is about. Not sitting in front of computers all day, but helping each other and loving each other on a daily basis. There's this really cool Stacie Orrico song that I keep listening to (I finally worked up the guts to listen to her whole album) called "I Could Be The One". I've found it a really encouraging song to listen to. It's all dancey and fun, and she sings,
"Doesn't matter who I know or what I've done- You take it all You want me as I am I could be the one Somebody you're looking for I don't have much to give Lord I'm ready ...
It is amazing to see That You'll choose people like me Who get off track Fall crashing to the ground But that's when You pick me up And show Your strength is enough You can use a broken heart to heal a broken life
You take the crazy thigns You take the weakest things You use the foolish things To show Your glory"
Isn't that great? Quite often I think that if I could just be a nicer person, if I could just be a little less lazy...while it is a great thing to strive to be better, what is wonderful is that God also wants us now, today, as we are. I love how He uses everything- all of my mistakes, all of my triumphs- for His glory. While it might sound strange that God uses everything for Himself, when you think about it, it's a wonderful thing. This is because God is all that is good- joy, purity, faith, compassion, kindness and wisdom. And the greatest defining thing about God is His love for His people- so much so that He sent His only Son to live and die and rise for His creation. Yay!
