    Time Event
    4:45p
    kicking butt in fanciful shoes
I had another one of those stress-outs somewhere between Monday night and Tuesday (which was yesterday). Oh my goodness, this project can so drive me crazy at times! It's pretty scary to think that, ever since the Winter holidays, I haven't been able to sleep at night because I've been so nervous about it. There are other things tied up in the project, though. Like, what am I going to do next year? If the circus falls through, that is. And there were always boy angst issues keeping me awake. Anyway, I've really been struggling lately to keep the project in perspective. Every now and then, it sneaks up behind me and shouts, "THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU WILL EVER DO!" But I know the truth: it SO ISN'T! The most important things that I can do are to love Jesus and to love others. Take THAT, you stupid major project monster, you! That said, I spent a very satisfying day at home today, tinkering away on the layout of the book section of my major project (it's not just a book, but yeah, it's too Avril too explain). And it's working out quite well, yay! Praise God!

There's a few little things you should know about...

Things I left off my wish list yesterday:
    > Hot pink Converse hi-tops.
(I ALMOST bought a pair from General Pants in the city the other day, but they didn't have my size. The dude offered to order them in for me from another store, and all of a sudden, I felt like a desperate teenbopper. "Thank you anyway, but I think that I'm just getting sucked into the trend," I said. And he laughed and patted my arm as I picked up my backpack and left the store! An interesting sales tactic.)
    > A car (obviously).

    Bad things about being Chinese:
    > You can never go blonde.
    > Chinese weddings.
(You're supposed to invite all of your distant distant distant relatives, and then at the reception you feed them ten courses until midnight or something. My family, minus my rock-star brother and me, went to one last Saturday night and came back all traumatised! I was a little gloatish, I have to admit. Whenever I went to a Chinese wedding when I was a kid, I'd tell my parents the day after, "I'm going to elope!" I think that they're still scared I'll do it someday.)

    Good things about being Chinese:
    > Hung bao (money in red packets) at Chinese New Year, right up until you get married. My uncle didn't get married until he was, like, thirty, and he was STILL getting money up until then!
    > MOONCAKES!
(No, mooncakes are not something that I made up. They are really yummy- they're made out of lotus seeds, I think, and you eat them when the moon is extra big, which I think is around August.)

My latest motto is, "Just give me seven weeks!" There are so many wonderful people to hang out with, so many good works to do, and just no time at all to do them in.
People who I've said "Just give me seven weeks!" to lately:
    > Ben (oh, about twenty times or so- the poor thing!)
    > Meg (always)
    > Clio (today)
    > Linda (and she just came back from Europe! I am so mean!)
    > My boss, Philippe Milion (Grace Bros is probably going to fire me if I don't work more hours)
    > Probably heaps more people

Why I'm looking forward to summer:
    > I'll get to hang out with Ben!
    > I'll get to hang out with my favourite girls: Meg, Grace, Ro, Linda, and so so so many more.
    > I'm going to finally nail the driving thing. I WILL!
    > I'm going to save up to buy a car.
    > I'm going to go to the beach AT LEAST once a week (I hope).
    > My time as a hermit will be SO over.
    > I won't be behaving like a maniac ("I'm so freaked out! I'm so stressed! I can't sleep! Romantic love! Argh!").
    > I will be free from any educational institution for the first time in my life! Hurrah!
    > Swimming.
    > Sonya and I might start conspiring (heh heh heh).
    > Summer time is Mission time (if I can commit to it)!

I still really like Spring, though. There are lovely colours everywhere I turn. And also, I might like Spring Fever now. Maybe. Probably. Well, it makes me smile, that's for sure.
