I'm thinking that punk sucks now (well, at least I got the attitude right) Here's a tip, friends: never cut your own hair if you're feeling tired and angsty. And especially don't cut your own hair after reading an article about Debbie Harry and the revival of punk. I didn't really have anything to do last night (Thursday is one of my official No Uni Work nights), so I decided to sneak into the bathroom and give my fringe a tiny little trim. After I did that, I thought, "Won't it be interesting and punky and cute if I make the ends of my hair all really different lengths?" So after I chopped all the ends around my head, I had to even up the top section as well. But then after I'd washed it and blow-dryed it, I realised that I'd accidentally cut it a lot shorter than I meant to. Oops. And I was meant to be growing it, too! I got a bit sad about my hair, especially when I thought of how my friend invited me to go to the symphony with him. "What sort of a girl goes to the symphony with a silly punky haircut?" I thought miserably to myself, touching my head and hoping that my hair wasn't as short as I'd remembered it to be.
I don't mind my haircut too much now, though. It's pretty interesting and different, and it still fits into pigtails. It doesn't take as much shampoo to wash it as when my hair was longer. And I'm sure it'll look a lot better when I style it, too. Thank goodness for my 6-in-1 crimping iron. And HELLO, it's JUST HAIR! |
