stuck...on something good Back at Planet Uni, and I have to say that I'm glad it's Thursday. Things are kind of crazy in Carla Town at the moment. It's weird- I'm not actively going around doing too many things, but I keep getting myself into trouble. Not trouble trouble (you won't see me being pulled over for drink-driving or anything P-platery like that), just confusion and a lot of thinking. So I'm looking forward to Sunday, where I'll get to see all of my friends and worship God. When things get all confusing, I feel as though God is the only constant thing in my life. Him, and His word, and the love that He gives me through the people I know. It's so wonderful to have Someone so huge to depend on.
I went to see Shapeshifter last night with a few people from the FEVA crew. Shapeshifter is Ben and Mark and Tim and Tim's band. And oooooh, they were SO GOOD! And I mean that, too! They really had it together as a band. And they are so TALENTED. Golly, I was watching Ben do his guitar solos, and I thought, "Man, I could never pull that off!" Though I still daydream about hitting the stage with my pop/rock/folk ditties that seem to be growing in number these days. I did end up wearing my new tutu, and I have to say that not many people appreciated it. I mean, my buddies did, but golly, the looks I got from people in the streets! People would whisper and point, and this little girl actually shouted something at me! Hopefully she said something nice, though. I couldn't understand what she was saying because it was in Chinese, and I don't speak Chinese. Anyway, people get so worked up about clothing. Like, I think that I offended some people! They should all just buy themselves rainbow jumpers or some stripey socks and chill out a bit.
Oh, I bought some new sneakers today, how exciting! I'm a bit picky about shoes, so it took me awhile to decide. I ended up buying these funky white Converse sneakers with these funny blobby red gel bits on the side. And inside the gel stuff are these sparkly stars! Cool, huh? I'm a pushover for anything glittery.
My project is going really well. I've left the Freak-Out Zone (after praying a lot!), and I've started to develop the story. I'm really excited by it, actually! The whole thing is really bizarre- like, there's lots of space-travel, machines and singing and dancing. Great stuff like that.
I had to wake up early this morning, so I could catch my mum and have a chat with her. My baby brother has an athletics carnival, and she was going to go with him. It was really cool talking to her. I need her to reassure me that I'd get it together someday!
Oh, and guess what? I came home yesterday to find my sister lounging around on my bedroom floor in her star-print PJ's, chatting to her pal Emily on my phone. "Hi, the band was sooooo good, wow, I'm so excited!" I blabbered at her. "I bought you a present," she said calmly, the phone still to her ear. She gestured over to my desk. There was the STACIE ORRICO CD, tied with a piece of pale-pink ballerina-ry ribbon! What a legend! I was so chuffed! I totally dig Stacie Orrico, because that "Stuck" song is so good and angsty. Plus she's a Christian and writes cool songs about God. And, as always, I totally dig my little sister, because she's such a generous and sweet soul.
