    my million dollar diet
Wow, this major project land is a strange place. I think that I miss the structure of classes to work around. It's actually quite difficult for me to concentrate on the project...I keep drifting off to read books and play my guitar. The project is chugging along nicely, though- I've been managing to write and draw a bit every day. I have to force myself to stay home, and I'm starting to go a little crazy! So I've lined up a few nice little outings for myself this week, just to keep myself sane. Which is a bit funny, because the outings are a little on the crazy side.

Tomorrow is another driving lesson with Saroj. She's the funniest thing. During our first lesson, she was making conversation as she took down the details from my driver's license. "So, Carla, what year are you in at school?" I didn't know what to say, so I said, "Um, well, I'm..." Then she looked at my birth-date and said, "Oh my goodness, what do you EAT?" I laughed so hard! She kept asking me what the secret of my diet was, and again I didn't know what to say, because I don't really have a secret diet (unless you count lots of ice-creams and tea). So I said timidly, "Well, I guess I keep out of the sun a lot..." but Saroj dismissed this with, "You should sell your secret diet to the Americans, because they're so keen on staying young. You'd make millions."

Anyway, on Wednesday night some of my mates from FEVA are in a band comp. Ben, Mark, Tim and Tim (though I don't know the second Tim) are in a heavy metal band called Shapeshifter. I love band comps, they're so much fun! I think I'll dress up in the exact opposite kind of outfit that the crowd will expect from a friend-of-the-metal-band. I'm thinking of going for the punky ballerina look, complete with a tutu.

Speaking of tutus, I had a really lovely day last Friday. I went down to the local shops and visited the Vinnie's there. I found a tutu for $2- how exciting! Then I visited the library, as well as the book exchange. At the book exchange, I found a whole lot of "Anastacia Krupnik" books. Those books are so cute and whimsical! A definite recommendation.

I've been playing my guitar a lot, lately. In the past week, I've written one and a half songs! I really dig playing the guitar- I get into this music arty sort of land in my head, and then I can't stop playing until the hour's up. I still wish that I knew more chords, though. Oh, but I learnt a new one- D major! Very exciting.
