creation and the creator I don't think that I have ever found a white, fluffy dandelion to be challenging in any respect, up until today. I decided that I needed to draw one for a uni project I'm working on (no, it ain't over yet), and I was so scared! I had to psych myself up for it. After I picked a few from my garden, I put them on this piece of black paper on my desk, and shone my desk lamp on them. And they were an intimidating presence indeed. They had so many intricate parts, so many subtleties and textures- all of which I wanted to reproduce using a piece of paper and a pencil. It all felt rather oaf-ish and clumsy and ambitious and impossible. However, thanks to God, I hadn't forgotton how to draw (as I had imagined), and I managed to do it, and be pleased with the outcome. And I enjoyed it! I pulled off a lot of those little dandelion helicopter thingies (petals?!) and drew them as well. Now, I think that there are a whole lot of them floating around in my room.
Drawing God's creation makes me realise how almighty and powerful God really is. I was quite intimidated by the activity of drawing those dandelions because of the complexity of their creation. To think that God invented them- all the wispy hairs and pointy ends, that turn into new dandelions once they blow away and plant themselves! I also realise how wonderful God is. He gives us so many special, sweet things, like dandelions, rainbows and ladybeetles. And He wants to be OUR FRIEND!
