more words, please! Hey there. If you're wondering where I've disappeared to, or why I won't be writing for awhile, or why I've been wandering around uni looking totally freaked out, it's because I've been working on my dissertation. It's due in a week and a day. I have to send another draft to Jeremy tonight by 9pm. I need to write 6000 words, and I've got 3200 and something so far. Yay! It seems that every time I go to write it, it changes form. First, it was a play. Then it became like this personal, reveal-all thing. Now it's like a magazine article crossed with an ordinary dissertation.
Just to update you, here are a few of the things that have been making me tick!
*The boy who can fly! *Friends letting me almost cry on them. *Friends actually letting me cry on them (Scott, you rock!). *Friends remembering all of my worries as they pray for me in Bible study (Ro, you rock!). *GOD ROCKS!! (will elaborate later, you can be sure of that) *New club: ROMANTICS UNITED! We might need a new name, and we DEFINITELY need a t-shirt and poster. So far I have 3 members, myself included. We get together and wear romantic clothes (anything retro, cared for, beaten-up or with a certain "look"), and we have autumn leaf fights in the park. We have tea parties and eat cupcakes with pink icing. We like old movies and books and things like that. We haven't had a meeting yet, but we MUST! Oh, and we take minutes at meetings, even though we don't ever really decide on anything. *Pretending I'm part of a celebrity couple, who people are eager to photograph. eg. "Exclusive: Carla and the boy who can fly pictured holding hands and walking in the park together!" Though, mind you, I still don't have a boyfriend. It's all in my imagination (as usual). *Two-ish assignments down, one to go! *Thinking of how exciting it will be to go to church in Petersham with Sonya and Meg! *"Gilmore Girls" is on tonight! *Seeing my imaginary boyfriend (Craig Nicholls from THE VINES) on TV this morning, plus Justin Timberlake, plus Kylie Minogue!
9:04pm Hurrah! Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah! I'm feeling tired, but happy- I finished (ish) writing my dissertation, and sent it off to Jeremy 2 minutes ago. Oops, 2 minutes after deadline- I'm sure he won't mind, though. Isn't that grand? Basically I had to start off from scratch like two days ago, and today I've nearly got 6000 words. And it's real stuff, too, this time- quite analytical and things like that. I have to say, though, that that has nothing to do with me. I totally praise God over the whole thing. I mean, if you'd seen me yesterday in Freak-Out City, you'd understand. Without God and the peace and grace he's given me, no WAY would I have been able to get my head together to write anything. I love being a Christian and being able to trust God with everything. I mean, God doesn't NEED to help me with something like my uni dissertation, but He does. He's never too busy for me! Not only that, but He's saved me from the eternal mess I could have been in- He saved me from the destrucion of hell. "The Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me." (Psalm 18:18-19) |
