May so far- a list I like: > dandelions > puddles > a boy > dressing up alternately as a rock chick and a bohemian art girl > blusher (I would prefer it if people didn't know that I wore make-up, but if you're walking around looking like Britney Spears cos you stayed up too late the night before, then it's kind of obvious. Also, those dressing-table type mirrors in the ladie's room at the QVB are always so pretty that I want to powder my nose, just for the sake of it.) > not being sad anymore > hanging out with my sister
Things I should think twice about: > what church I'm going to > whether one can survive purely on a diet of ham and cheese sandwiches, jaffles, muesli bars, tea, apples and cereal. This is because there isn't usually much food in my house, except for cakes and muffins and bananas and stuff. I think that this is because my Dad spends so much time focussing on the cafe and ordering stuff, that he forgets to do normal grocery shopping for our household.
Things of note today: > the clock stopped at 2:02pm the Town Hall today. I love that sort of thing! I find it very amusing when things that we rely on break down. But then I realised that a lot of busy people were probably all confused if they didn't have watches.
Things I have achieved by 6pm today: > I got out of bed!! > I had a really good prayer time (I've had a lot on my mind, and I needed to pray for a lot of my friends) AND a good solo Bible study > I washed this top I really like wearing that got stinky from a restaurant > I bought Erin a birthday present
Things I have not achieved at all today: > buying a swimming costume (now that I'm going on a beach holiday, I need a swimming costume that doesn't come off in the surf. Unfortunately, the beach holiday is during winter, and all of the stores have unanimously decided that the weather is in fact not warm anymore, hence making everything in the shops all woolly.) > doing any real uni work.
Yesterday was good because: > I ran into my work pal Evie on the way to GB's on the bus! She is way cool- really friendly and pretty and the type of person you feel at ease around. If she hadn't been there during my shift in International Brands two weeks ago, I would have been severely bored. And we got to work together yesterday in Ladies Coats! It was funny- we both came straight from uni, and didn't want to wear the black and white during the day, and so once we got to work we had to do a quick change. I said that we were like Clark Kent turning into Superman, but Evie said that we weren't saving anyone's lives, although we were saving people from possibly catching pneumonia.
A conversation today: My mobile phone rang today while I was at home, and the person on the other side identified themselves as Andrew. "Oh hi, Andrew! It's great to hear from you! How are you going?!" I replied. I have two friends called Andrew, both of whom are lovely. "Great, thanks! How did you go yesterday?" Andrew asked. "Yesterday? What happened yesterday?" "Your presentation to the fashion students." "Oh, wow, how did you know about that? Did I tell you?" I asked. And then Andrew said something along the lines of, "Well, you told me on Monday that you organised a meeting with Alison..." And then I realised. It was Andrew MY TEACHER FROM UNI. Humph.
