    Time Event
    9:24a
    morning?
I could easily sleep for like....another five hours, well, at least another two. I suppose five might be pushing it.

Friday was good. I did not, could not go to work. I went to the doctor, which I mentioned in the last post. I have to go for blood work and my glucose test, probably tomorrow. I am not looking forward to this. I can't explain why this makes me super nervous. I guess it's just that when you're pregnant, they scare you with endless talk about all the possible complications, and it just makes me nervous. I hope it goes well. After that, we went to my parents' house, and my dad helped D to fix his breaks, which was pretty cool. I hung out with my mom for the afternoon at the house, and that was kind of nice. After that, we left, and we met up with D's dad for dinner... That was nice too, although it is strange to have so much family around....in a good way I think. We went to this burger chain, Red Robin, where I probably had a 2,000 calorie burger, which was ridiculously delicious. This was D's dad's first week at his new job, and he seems to really be enjoying it so far, which is a relief.

The weekend was great. Everything was fantastic. The massage was heavenly. I highly recommend, no, insist, that everyone book a massage now! The one thing I'm sure of (I'm generally too relaxed for too many lucid thoughts) when I'm getting a massage is that I don't get them often enough and that my physical body deserves a bit more love and attention than I give it.

Dinner on Saturday was okay. We went to this restaurant that fancied itself a continental/asian restaurant, which just annoyed me. It was neither continental nor asian, and it was way, way too loud. I had steak, which was a bit over-cooked, but we had fun anyways.

On Sunday, we were going to go to the Saratoga racetrack, but as it has for the past two weeks, it rained...so we didn't go. We spent the day lazing about, walked Mugs when the rain broke, and then we went for dinner at one of our favorite places, where I ordered salmon. It was soooo good. One thing I noticed when I was scoping out restaurants to go to is that SO many places are now closed on Sunday. How annoying is that? Monday or Tuesday seems like a smarter choice to me, but whatever.

All in all the weekend was great. We did stick to pretending we were on vacation, so we didn't do any mundane, unfun things like grocery shopping or other chores. It was just really nice.

Monday it was back to the grindstone though...

Work followed by the gym, which was nice. Well, the gym part was anyways. I did a killer strength workout. I've been able to increase my weights a fair amount, and because I had some extra time, I added dips and rows. I am really hoping that keeping my muscle tone up throughout my pregnancy will make the weight I gained easier to lose after the delivery. Hell, hopefully it will make the delivery easier too!

    My usual strength workout is:
    4x12 leg curls
    4x12 leg extensions
    4x12 hip abductors
    4x12 hip adductors
3x12 weird butt kick back machine
    4 or 5x 12 back extension
    3x12 bench press
    3x12 lat pull down

I do arms/shoulders/small upper body muscle group stuff at home with dumbells. I tend to focus on the larger muscle groups at the gym because I don't have heavy enough weights to really work them well at home...plus, the lower body and back tends to be more affected by pregnancy as those areas all bear the extra weight, so I'm trying extra hard to strengthen them.

Today I'm walking to and from work and for 30 minutes in the concourse during lunch. Yay!

    Yesterday's food:
Bfast: lite toast with peanut butter
Lunch: vegetarian sandwich from some restaurant...roasted red peppers, fried eggplant, provolone, hummus, etc. on wheat. Not the healthiest thing, but it was the best choice they had.
Snack: plain veggie pattie, no bread
Dinner: homemade chunky veggie red sauce w/ tortellini and chicken sausage and veggielicious salad
Dessert: 3 tiny pieces of organic 70% cocoa dark chocolate (about 100 calories)

It's weird. Lately I have not been feeling meat or starch...at all. It just feels so...heavy, and I feel so full and short on room. All I seem to want is fruit, veggies, and occassionally cheese. I generally try to include some meat at dinner, just to make sure I'm getting enough protein....apparently I need about 80g a day at this point, which is pretty difficult to get on a vegetarian diet, unless one is being really, really conscientous, which...eh..I feel too absentminded to really be at this point.

    Today's plan:
    So far:
Bfast: 100 cal whole grain English muffin, 1 egg
    Planned:
Lunch: 1 can Amy's black bean soup
Snack: leftover veggielicious salad, maybe some blueberries
Dinner: vegetarian paninis w/ whole wheat bread, tons of veggies, and cheeeeeeeese
Dessert: some kind of fruit...either baked peaches, berries and lite w. cream, or papaya..YUM!

Somehow, I'm still not any more awake than I was when I started writing this. Argh! I do not feel like getting dressed and going to work. I have an unshakeable desire to burn my maternity clothes. Tonight we're supposed to make an appearance at this farewell happy hour thing, which I don't want to go to, but we have no choice. Laaaaaaamee.
