    Skincare update
    Ok, so I'm converted.

The Caudalie Purifying Concentrate is by far the most amazing skin product I've ever laid my beauty product lusting hands on. I can't explain it. I admit; initially I was dubious. After all, the idea of purposely putting oil on my combination skin in order to clear and prevent blemishes seemed more than a little counter- intuitive, but I was intrigued, and I was comforted by the store's assurance that I could return the product if my face errupted, so I bought it

The application is pretty simple. Wash your face, and then massage six drops of the oil on to your face and neck in the evening. So that's what I did. The oil only takes a few minutes to sink into your skin, and it smells divine. My face wasn't the slightest bit oily or shiny after application, and my silk pillow cases don't look any worse for wear. The next morning, my skin looked all....glowy, soft, and extra-rested.e There were a few areas I had been worried about, areas that were in pre-breakout mode that had been looking kind of red. That morning found the pre-spot spots....perfectly clear. I've been using the oil for a few days, and the oil-induced breakout I've been anticipating still hasn't come. In fact, no breakouts have come, and my skin looks and feels phenomenal. The only thing that's upsetting is that I have to wash it off in the morning in order to apply moisturizer and sunscreen.

The Skyn eye cream is pretty fab too. My eyes feel moisturized, but not greasy, all day, and I've found that it significantly reduces puffiness and undereye circles...although to be fair, neither of these problems is super-problematic for me. One nice thing though is that this eye cream doesn't irritate my eyes like my Murad Essential C eye cream did, which inexplicably left my eyes watering, only to have my $45 eye cream running down my face. Plus, you only need a tiny bit, so I'm pretty sure a jar will last forever, making it well worth the money.

The Caudalie Vinoperfect moisturizer is really nice too. As it's so rich and easily absorbed, you only need a little. It goes further than my Murad does, and it doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy. Supposedly, it's supposed to help to lighten dark spots due to acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, and such, so I'm anxious to see how that works. Again, I don't have anything major going on this arena, but I do have a few minor issues, and I'd be elated if this product remedied them, but I'm thinking it will take longer than a few days, so I'll let you know.

The blotting papers are nice. I don't know what else to say about them, except that they work, and they smell exactly like green tea ice cream.

As to the Perfekt, I only bought the small purse/travel size (because it's pretty pricey!), so I've been nervous about wasting a use when I'd just be bumming around the house, which is what I've done all weekend. I've kind of been saving the first real use for a time when I'd be going out to dinner or something at the very least. I can tell you about my initial test though. First off, a little does go a long way, and this product blends beautifully and provides great coverage, withought looking heavy or gunky. I'd liken it to a hybrid of really creamy, smoth foundation and your favorite primer. It blends seamlessly, so you could use it for full-face coverage or kind of on an as needed basis....I would probably opt for the latter and use it on my T-zone, under my eyes, and on any problem areas, blending outward. If it's humid out, I might use a light dusting of powder to set it. As far as coverage, it does a good job of covering most pores, redness, light scarring, and blemishes. I'm not sure how it would do with lines. It doesn't really have a noticeable smell, which for me is a good thing. As I haven't given it a proper test, I can't say how long it lasts or if it causes breakouts or anything like that, but as soon as I give it a good test run (hopefully this week-certainly no later than Saturday), I'll let you know.

    Air conditioning is awesome.
It is so warm outside. I instantly feel like a sweaty mess whenever I move, and it is vile. Those face blotting papers and I are now best friends.

    Today:
    So far:
Bfast: Whole grain 100 cal English muffin with peanut butter
Lunch: 1 c Fat free greek yogurt with a ton of fresh raspberries
    Snack: Orange
    Planned:
Snack: Low fat string cheese, low sodium V8
Dinner: Turkey burger on diet bread, baked french fries, and veggie-licious salad

    Yesterday was good...sort of.
    Brunch: Whole grain blueberry pancakes
Snack: Low fat string cheese, low sodium V8
    Snack: 1/2 California roll
    Snack: 1/2 100 calorie bagel
Dinner: Whole grain pasta w/ chicken sausage, sundried tomatoes, roasted eggplant, lentils, mushrooms, and capers
Dessert: waaaaay too much Ben & Jerry's Dublin Mudslide. Seriously, this is the best ice cream I've ever had in my life...D, who doesn't even care much for ice cream and isn't pregnant even said it was the best ice cream ever, and he shared it with me, which distributed the damage.

I guess I shouldn't feel too bad about the ice cream given how little I ate all day (for a pregnant chick) and given that I had a pretty good workout yesterday. I walked for about 20 minutes on the treadmill, and then I did a total body strength workout for 40 minutes. It felt awesome.

The day before yesterday, aka Saturday (proctoring! ugh!)
Bfast: Bacon, egg on English muffin (the second lowest calorie item on the dunkin donuts menu)
    Snack: low fat string cheese
Lunch: veg. chick pattie on diet bread, a few of D's pretzels
    Snack: low fat string cheese
    Dinner: chicken parm sandwhich
Dessert: 150 calories of lite ice cream bars

Today, I walked to and from work (total of 30 minutes), and I walked for 30 minutes during lunch, so I'm good for today. Tomorrow, we'll go to the gym. Ra, ra, ra.

We might walk Mugs. We might not. Also, I might get to see Liz today. Then again, given prior experience, I might not. We shall see.

Now I need to eat my snack and tidy up in case Liz does actually come over. I guess at the very least, the possibility of her showing up does keep my house clean if nothing else. Bah!

    Current Mood: thirsty
