Papers. In a nutshell, Thanksgiving was awesome. My parents, D, his parents, and his sister all had Thanksgiving dinner at my parents' house, and it was great. As always, my mom did the whole Martha Stewart thing: five courses, Waterford crystal, china, charger plates, silver, fancy napkins, classical music, all that stuff. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, and everything was delicious as always.
I did pretty well too I think. I had a fruit shake for breakfast and a salad for lunch. At dinner, I didn't drink the cider or the fruity dinner drink my mom made, so I probably saved 200 cals right there. I didn't have any seconds. I had a little of everything, but tried to focus on veggies and protein, although my mom's stuffing has always been a major weakness. I didn't drink too much alcohol either, which is good. Dessert wasn't too bad. I had three different things due to family pressure: a pumpkin bar, pumpkin pie, and a trifle. Honestly, I only ate about a bite, maybe two of each because I was so full. It made everyone happy though that I had some and complimented the hell out of everyone so i guess that's good.
On Friday, I had some leftovers. On Sunday, D and the inlaws and I went out to dinner. I had a nice, lean steak, and I didn't eat dessert with the rest of the fam. On Sunday, we went out for lunch. I had a veggie and chicken salad, dressing on the side, and a cup of veggie soup. Dinner was Thanksgiving leftovers casserole. Thankfully, the leftovers are finally gone.
Today, I've been busting my ass on my paper, which is due tomorrow, which is totally annoying. I'm totally demoralized because as soon as I finish this one, I basically have to start doing work for the next one. Ugh. I did go to the gym today though; I did 40 mins on the elliptical. Yay!
This week I'm walking my 30 mins every day at work, and I want to try to go to the gym on Wednesday.
On Friday, we have to go to D's firm's holiday party, and I want to look fabulous, which is not easy after Thanksgiving. I bought a bunch of salad. The plan is to eat salad w/ lettuce, romaine, grape tomatoes, broccoli, and a bit of grilled chicken every day for lunch this week. I also want to try to avoid alcohol all week if I can. So far, so good. No alcohol yesterday and none today. I'm thinking if I end up having some wine once this week before the party, I won't be too upset, but not on Thursday, because I don't want to be bloated on Friday. Listen to me; I'm totally insane, and I should be working on my paper, but I swear I don't even care. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.
I think I might call in to work tomorrow. What a slacker I am!
D and I have recently became obsessed Scrabble. Fun!
Ok, now I'm going to work on my paper.
