I wish I were a messenger and all the news was good Yesterday was awesome. Very low key. After a nice, long weekend, I feel rather refreshed.
I look cute. Brown boots (they can do no wrong!), brown fishnets (just an inch or two peeking between the boots and skirt-enough so my outfit is neither boring, nor trampy), camel colored flannel knee length A line skirt, navy v neck sweater, cranberry leater bag with cute metallic details.
In other news, it's hot as hell in here. Let me explain: our office is a square. Cut it in half. I sit on one half, and the main door and water cooler, and some filing cabines are there. My desk is by the outer wall and window...and by the radiator. On the other side of the square, are my two office mates, whose desks are shielded by tall dividers. The ceilings in our office are very high, and our office is poorly insulated. The dividers, the insulation, and the ceilings mean my office mates are always cold, and they always turn it up to 80 so it can be 70 over there...well let me tell you. It's 80 right here, and it sucks! That being said, there's no way in hell I'm moving, because my desk is awesome, and I have the one window in the room. But damn...I'm hot. I'm going to be bitching about that all winter, I promise. They keep saying they'll bring a space heater in....and I wish they'd stop talking about it and do it!
I did about an hour of yoga and pilates yesterday. It's weird, but I'm actually getting sore from yoga. I think it's just such a different way of working out, but I gotta say, my muscles seem to be enjoying it, and that loose, relaxed feeling afterwards is great. I love mixing it up.
Today, D and I are going to the gym no matter what!
Today I took my walk, and I did my resistance band. I'm planning on doing the elliptical at the gym. Burn, baby burn. I intend to do weights at home on Thursday.
I'm not making such great progress on my paper. I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow.
Yesterday: Bfast: 2 eggs scrambled w/ broccoli and roasted eggplant (no bread) Lunch: 1/2 sandwhich w/ diet bread and skinless chicken breast w/ lto Snack: low fat string cheese Dinner: 2 falafel balls w/ 1 whole wheat pita, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and TONS of hummus. Seriously, way too much hummus. <3 hummus!
Today: Bfast: whole grain, sugar free oatmeal w/ blueberries Lunch: spinach salad w/ chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, a hard boiled egg, carrots, and broccoli, w/ olive oil and balsalmic vinegar Snack: 1/2 bottle of Odwalla pumpkin soy shake (I'm having the other half tomorrow) Dinner: unagi w/ avocado, cucumber, and brown rice
Tomorrow: Bfast: vanilla soymillk & strawberry shake Lunch: salmon pattie and raw broccoli Snack:1/2 bottle of Odwalla pumpkin soy shake (I'm having the other half tomorrow) Dinner: homemade split pea soup and turkey burgers w/ diet bread
As you can see, I'm trying really hard to get some variety in there. I feel way better when I eat a variety of different fruits, veggies, and protein sources. I look better too. I remember when I basically used to eat all the same "safe" foods day in and day out.... It was 100 cal non fat yogurt or 110 cal pria or 100 cal veggie pattie, an orange, and a chicken-based dinner every day, and I looked like crap! I'm also trying to cut down on wheat while increasing fiber. I'm also making an effort to get more raw produce in by eating salad at least once a week and...well...just by working raw veggies in here and there. Granted, I should probably try to not eat so much broccoli and look into something else, but I love the stuff!
Of course, I'm continuing my lemon water and my Pom shots. I really feel like I notice a difference w/ them. The lemon water is just invigorating and de-bloating, and the Pom is just ridiculously good for you, and my skin glooooows. I might start taking one green tea supplement a day. I just don't drink enough green tea, and I think my metabolism would benefit from it.
And...er...now I'm going to work on my paper. Really. Honestly. Truly.
That and drink water. I haven't had nearly enough water today. I'm finishing this liter before I leave!
