Happy Saturday! So yesterday, my cousin John, well, my second cousin I guess? My mom's cousin's son..whatever that is. Anyway, he came over to stay at our house last night because he had a job placement exam this morning in Albany. We had a good time, ate unadon, watched Snatch, and drank a few Heineken lights, which for light beer, aren't too bad.
Anyhow that was pretty much the evening.
This morning he went for his exam, and he's not back yet, which is sort of a bummer because we were all supposed to go to my parents' house to help build the patio. Anyhow, D already went to help out, and I'm waiting for John because he's not back yet. I hope everything's all right; he was supposed to be here like three hours ago. Of course I called his cell, but it went straight to voice mail. As long as everything's okay, I'm not too heart broken about missing out on some back-breaking labor. We'll see what happens.
I used the opportunity to sneak a little pilates in, and when I'm done, I'm going to do some more pilates and yoga, maybe some work on the Swiss ball.
Yesterday:
Bfast: Milken pancakes
Lunch: Kiwi
Snack: Low fat string cheese
Dinner: Unadon (unagi, avocado, cucumber, brown rice)
Bvgs: 3 Heineken Lights
I realize this is kind of an odd intake, but we took the day off, and we slept in super late. Milken pancakes btw are the only pancakes I eat, and they are beyond awesome. I'll post the recipe on the community page today. They're really low in fat, high in fiber, and include blueberries and bananas. Yum! They are also...incredibly filling, and because of the fruits' sweetness, you barely need any syrup at all.
Today:
Bfast: 1 egg, 3 slices turkey bacon, 1 slice diet toast
Lunch: Kiwi, boiled Swiss chard with balsalmic vinaigrette (surprisingly good!)
Snack: Low fat string cheese OR light soy milk
Snack: Orange
Dinner: ????
As you can see, I'm actually taking my own advice and trying some of the new foods that I posted about the other day because I am that person who lives on chicken, broccoli, oranges, and brown rice. *Yawn* Surprisingly, I'm now all about kiwis, which is odd, because I remember disliking them when I was a kid. Now, however, I find their taste to be really refreshing, and I like that they're small. Usually, I just peel and slice 'em, and then obviously, I eat them, but supposedly they're good in shakes and salads as well. I also bought some Swiss chard, and it's awesome! Seriously, check out this
nutritional profile. It's amazing. This link includes the recipe I tried, and it was really good. I'm going to try to eat it once a week.
Yesterday, I tried the most amazing mask
ever. It was practically a religious experience for my skin. I used
this clay mask , which I bought for even less at my local health food store. I mixed it with apple cider vinegar, and it was phenomenal. My skin glooooooows, and the teensy tiny blackheads on my nose are all gone, and my skin is soooo soft. This works far better than many expensive masks. I followed it up with Clinique's 5 minute moisturizing mask. Love it.
I recently decided to start flossing because I have a dentist appointment in about ten days. My dentist is insane. He wants everyone to brush for 4 minutes per session, in addition to flossing and all that, and he's always after me about flossing, so I'm going to do it every day until the appointment and see what he says. I have no life.
