    Time Event
    12:55p
    Big update
    Yesterday was okay. Kinda.

I left work a little early because I had some errands to run. Basically, I had to return some shirts to the mall that I had ordered for D, and then I had to goooo allllll the way up to Latham (about 20 mins each way) to pick up a package because UPS sucks. Basically I live in an apartment, and a lot of companies are now requiring adult signature upon delivery, which causes problems for people like me...who...oh...I don't know, have a JOB and can't take off from work to sit around to sign from some stupid package, which forces me to drive all the way up there so I can sign for it and pick it up before they send it back. Is it just me, or does that defeat the purpose of paying money to have something delivered to your door? Gah! Anyways, you can probably tell, this seriously annoys me.

Anywyays, all of this took way longer than I ever could have anticipated, and I didn't get home until like 6 oclock. The whole thing was full of so many annoyances that I can't even really describe it, so I won't. The best part was the amazing parking job I pulled when I got home. I am absolutely The Queen of parallel parking. Of course, while I was at the mall, I bought some cute dark jeans on sale. They're kind of boot cut, and they look like a more forgiving version of skinny jeans, so that's cool. Yesterday they fit me perfectly.

Then D and I went to the food fest. It was fun, and we had a little of the good stuff. We had Peruvian, Indian, Gyro, and crepes, and we split everything. We didn't even eat that much or eat anything that bad, and we didn't even drink yesterday, but today....

They don't fit quite as well..

I'm guessing it's gotta be the insane amounts of salt that were probably in all that food. Gah. Salt really affects me so much more than it used to. Seriously. Salt+PMS=bloat hell. Boo. Hiss.

Today, I'm going to drink so much water, I'm going to absolutely float.

My computer is really slow right now, and it's annoying me.

It's really nice outside, and I can't wait to go for my walk.

Oh right, sooooo the whole reason I had to drive all the way to UPS? My super cute workout clothes that I got from Activa...com...something like that. They were all on clearance, and now I can't wait to go to the gym. Hey, whatever works, right?

I hope the air conditioning is fixed. I mean seriously, if there's any place that needs the AC to work, it's the gym.

Work is really slow and boring.

I don't want school to start ever. It starts on the 27th despite my clear desire for it to never start ever again. Seriously, why don't people check with me on these things?

I have come to the conclusion that I need:
    A) A gay boyfriend, and
    B) An in person female friend that I could see once a month.

I should put out an ad or something.

Mug is awesome. I swear that dog gets cooler every day.

Now, on to Mexico. This will be mildly abbreviated.

We flew out of Long Island to Phily to catch a connection. The flight was turbulent, and Ihate turbulence. Seriously, it just makes me very uneasy.
We arrived at Philly, then we had a lay over, and then we flew to Cancun. This flight was also turbulent. I slept as much as possible.

We arrived in Cancun in the early afternoon. We walked through the airport looking for our shuttle person as we had booked a shuttle to take us to and from the airport. So we're walking down the hall to the outside, and both sides of the hallway are full of men in uniforms standing in kiosks, and one of these guys asked us which shuttle we had booked and who we booked through. We told him Expedia, and he flagged us over. He told us that he was offering us excursions at a discounted price, and it sounded like an awesome deal, so we paid, he told us where to get our shuttle, and we left.

We arrived at the resort, and it was pretty nice. Initially, it was a little disappointing because when we went to Mexico last year, we stayed at one of the poshest resorts ever, totally 5 stars, you know? So, it was a bit of a bummer, even though for the price we paid the resort was really nice; I mean it was really nice anyway, but comparatively....Anyhow, the resort was nice. Our room was simple, clean, and very nice. We immediately donned our swimsuits and went to one of the pools and proceeded to lie in the sun and drink drinks.

We found out that people in the airport ripped us off and that in order to get the excursions, we had to go to a timeshare presenation. The only way to get out of it was to go through our resort's presentation. They would then give us back our money plus $75. Gah. We did. We went, and they plied us with huge, delicious margaritas. The first deal was...$40k. We laughed and thought we were done, but they kept offering cheaper and cheaper alternatives. It was seriously annoying because we can't afford any form of time share. Anyhow, eventually we escaped, cash in hand. The cash was pretty cool because it pretty much paid for our spa visit where we both got hour long massages. Mmmmmm......

All in all, that's pretty much what we did for the whole five days we were there. We drank; we spent a ton of time lazing in the sun, and we met a lot of really cool people from all over. There were a TON of people from the UK because the pound is so amazingly strong right now. A bunch of guys from London that I was talking to got me some drink called "seven blokes," and after two of them, I was totally trashed...granted, I had had a few drinks already, but whatever. For me, that's saying a lot, because two of anytying pretty much never sets me over, so it msut have been pure booze. Tasted good though. Anyhow, it was a cool resort, very relaxed. The beach was beyond gorgeous. Turquoise water, white sand, the works. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather too, which was great. D and I both got tans! I didn't burn, but D did...he burned his scalp, and it blistered! Talk about painful. Anyhow, we went downtown a few times to go out for dinner and shop around and stuff, and that was fun. For our anniversary, we went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and it was ridiculously expensive, but it was seriously the best steak I ever had in my life. Ever. Annnnnd...that's pretty much it, in a nut shell. We had a great time. Woo hoo!

We flew back from Mexico to Philly, connected, and flew into LI. We stayed with D's parents, talked a bit, and drove to Albany on Friday.

We were super happy to see Mugs, who was of course fine. Hurray for Mugs!

Then we kinda chilled out and layed low all weekend. On Sunday, we went with my parents to the Saratoga track and watched the races. I did really well. I pretty much broke even...well, really I was down about $3, but I count that as breaking even because everyone else lost their asses. Then we went out for Mexican, and then we went to my parents' house to eat our year old cake, which was surprisingly good. I always hear how bad it is, but ours actually held up really well. Then we went home.

    And that's pretty much it.

And now, I'm going to eat my salad and go for a walk outside.

    Current Mood: lethargic
