weekend update I am at home, and it...is awesome.
So on to the weekend summary.
Friday: D and I met up with people from my MBA program. We met at this crappy bar/restaurant across the street from school. The food was crap, but it was a good time despite the fact that not that many people showed up. Rachel (pronounced Raquel and her bf,Jason, and Kelly showed up, along with me and D. After that, Kelly went home, and D and I went to R&J's apartment and had a glass of wine and a glass of port and played cards. As usual, I took everyone's money. Good times! They have this really cool cat named Poe, who is extremely fluffy and pettable. At one point, he decided to jump from on of the speakers on to the top of a door frame. He kept stretching and almost doing it...it took him like five minutes to go for it ( we were egging him on the whole time) before he jumped onto the door frame and promptly fell off. It was hilaaarious.
On Saturday, we went to have dinner with D's friends from school, Amy and Bill. Dinner was very tasty, and the portions were thankfully small (she made the mashed potatoes with CREAM!). We had a very good time! They had three cats, all of whom were very entertaining. They seem pretty cool, and I think we could probably couple be-friend them.
This is all really cool because: 1. We've been whining about not having friends to hang out with in Albany...I mean they're not real friends, like friends I could tell secrets to or anything, but they are at least really good acquaintances at this point, which is cool.
2. We are always having people over, and people never have us over. I seriously think the our house to other people's house ratio is like 500/1. No joke.
Double bonus: I had red meat two days in a row...good for my anemia.
On Sunday, I really just wanted a lazy day, and D had to study, so it was perfect. I went for an hour long walk, which was great. I finished re-reading 1984. I shopped on art.com since our old housemate Mike came here a few weeks ago and got all his art back since he finally had a place for it. I ordered custom stamps for the thank yous and wallet pics for the thank yous...anyhow, I didn't feel like cooking anything, and it wa our five year dating anniversary...so I whined and we went out to dinner! I had stuffed salmon, and it was divine!
I'm hoping my boots come in the mail today.
It is beauuuuutiful outside today, and I'm going for another uber long walk this afternoon. I'll probably do some abs and some upper body weights too. Walking=calorie burning!! I'm looking all right. I'll check the scale on Wednesday or tomorrow maybe. Probably tomorrow. GAH.
I have tons of time off this week, and I'm loving it. I'm going to sleep in and go for a walk every day, and I'm going to relax and LOVE IT.
I guess that's pretty much it.

excited! So...I am having my FOURTH interview for this job on Wednesday, my birthday. So, maybe I'll be getting a new job for my birthday?? That would be awesome. I had listed my marketing prof as one of my references, and he told me that they called him, and that they wanted me for the social services position, which is awesome, because that's the job I want out of the four that I interviewed for. Awesome! EEEEK! I didn't work out at all. D came home early, skipped class, and spent the day with me. *Smiles* I guess I'll do some upper body weights and some stretches before class.. Wish me luck! excited about tomorrow.
I love not going to work.
I'm going to sleep in. I'm going to walk.
I'm going to do abs. I'm going to go grocery shopping. I'm going to deep condition! I'm going to do my eyebrows. I'm going to write some thank yous. I'm going to call my mom. I'm going to decompress for my interview.
Today class was boring. My finance professor is teaching us how to do this project without teaching any of the concepts or underpinnings. It's like teaching that if a true false says always, it's probably false. Lame!
Oh, and I'm going to vote!!!
GO VOTE!
I'm watching SATC reruns on TBS. The censored version is not the same! |
