could it be? Sooooo... We got the list down to 120, so there are no problems. This is a huge, huge relief.
Also, as far as the job goes, it's actually a viable option from what I understand.
The contenders:
Guy one: The assemblyman he worked for retired, so he was out a job. He wanted this job, but this job pays about 30k less than he used to make, and the extra money can't be secured, so he's out.
Guy two: This guy works for at our Communications dept, so he's an insider too, and his wife recently had a baby. His current job involves a lot of travel, which is why he wants out. The thing is, he wants to take his paternity leave during the new job's training period, and the boss isn't too thrilled about that.
Me: I'm also an insider, and I am not planning on taking any kind of child-related leave for a few years, which is a plus. Also, the person currently working the position is a good friend of mine and has apparently put in a bunch of good words for me, and I know all the same people she does, which is good since our jobs are highly political, and it's all about who you know.
Other chick: She was a former intern, but apparently the boss hates her, and she's a moron. I believe she's pretty much out of the running.
My interview is on Monday!! Wish me luck!! <3 N

GR! Gah. My mom...is crazy. I love her, but she's crazy. I'm in school. I work full time. I'm taking three classes, and all of them have assigned WAY too much work. My mom's never been to college, let alone grad school, so maybe she doesn't get it?I think she thinks I haven't worked on it, but that's not the case. I've done a TON of it, and it's still not done. It's like a thirty page project. She said we'd either be going out to dinner or eating at her house. Then she said we're going out...we have reservations. Then, yesterday, she heard the weather might be bad (the restaurant is about an hour and fifteen mins away), so she bought a ton of food just in case, and now she calls me and says she needs me to come over tonight because she wants me to come over to cook, and then to help all day tomorrow as well. Did she call closer restaurants? Did she even check? No. She assumed I would be there to help. My marketing project is due on Tuesday. I was told we were going to a restaurant, so I was planning on working on it all day today and all tomorrow morning. Plus, my mom wants us to come over Sunday to trim the tree, so that would be out too. Plus, I have class on Monday and work, so basically I would just be left with Friday to work and Saturday to work on somehting that is...most of my grade. She doesn't care. If I knew in advance, I would have done more of my project in advance, and this wouldn't be a problem. I'm just annoyed she doesn't care about anyone else's time, and she doesn't understand that other people can't just drop their plans just because she has that luxury. Am I being unreasonable?
