Shit that pisses me off
My Mom and Stepdad came to down for two weeks for the sole purpose of working their asses off. The sole purpose of getting their new home ready for when they retire and move down next year.
I don't like braggarts and that is not the point of my rant. It seems that out of myself, my step-brother, step-sister and step-nephew, I am the only one who worked my ass off with my Mom and Jim when I was there last week. My step-brother has not been over to help all week and he lives 15 minutes away.
When my sister, brother and nephew came over while I was there, the majority of the time was spent smoking, drinking, yapping and generally being lazy-asses. Me, Mom and Jim spent at least 12 hours each day ripping up carpet and linoleum, pulling staples, sanding walls, painting, etc.
At one point, after pulling staples for about 20 minutes, my sister looked at me and said that she was not doing it any more. I looked over at my 65 year old stepdad with bilateral knee replacements, sitting on the floor, pulling staples. She disgusted me.
I called my Mom this afternoon and she sounded so exhausted...Jim too. It has been a never ending unexpected situation after the next for them the past two weeks. NOT ONE of my siblings/nephew have offered any kind of help. The kitchen, both bathrooms, the hall and the washroom still need to be painted.
They were supposed to have left to go back to Montana this morning, but they have pushed it back to Sunday morning.
I'm going up again tonight and I'm taking Veronica with me. I should be back tomorrow night. I am going to make sure this shit is done for them before I leave. |
