Lights Out! One of the biggest advantages of living in Mumbai is that the electricity almost never goes. Strangely, tonight electricity went for two hours. What is more queer though, is that we were not plundered in complete darkness because the lights of only the kitchen and a couple of rooms went out. The living room functioned normally. The entire building faced a similar problem, but all the other buildings in the area did not. I can't imagine what it would have been like had there been total darkness. We would have been sweating it out in the terrible April heat. (If it's so hot now, I don't even want to think what it will be like in May, and what it will be like in Delhi when I go there for a short visit).
After a long long time, I finally read a book! I finished with Jerome K. Jerome's Three Men in a Boat. He digresses often, but it was never a waste, because I was trying hard to control my laughter. :-)
Now I plan to snuggle up with Sherlock Holmes, and after that with the pitiable characters of Dickens, or the fantasy of Tolkien's LOTR. And of course, I'm not going to miss Grisham and his contemporaries for anything!
It occurred to me that this is probably the last long vacation I will have. Next summer, an internship, the summer after that, final exams, and after that, probably a job or further studies...
I think too much at times. I must enjoy the present, and think only what is needed for the future!
