1:42p - No Mouse
I dropped my mouse on the floor. I've done that a lot this summer because of the setup of this room; this time it stopped working. Fortunately, turning on Full Keyboard Access lets me do all the things I really need to do. The only things I can't do are copy/paste, resize windows, and move them around. Switching between windows is easy though. Oh, I also can't click on URLs sent to me in email or IMs. I can tab over to Omniweb and type them in, but that can be really tedious.
Omniweb itself has many great keyboard-only features, which include the ability to go to links by typing the string of letters to which the link's anchor refers. Command-up and command-down go to links sequentially. I'll go to Circuit City or something to get a mouse later today, but I think I will leave Full Keyboard Access on. It can be more convenient for the things you don't actually need the mouse for. I'll definitely still use a lot of Omniweb's features.
On a side note, I would switch from Safari to Omniweb altogether if they would get their Arabic support up to standard. That reminds me to write up a description of the problem so that marginalia, a paid user, can forward them to Omnigroup.
Hmm, I can't tab to the music and mood fields. Ummm, guess I'll do that manually.
current mood: eh current music: U2, New York, All That You Can't Leave Behind
