1:28a - So, I'm Back
I am once again connected to the Internet from my place of residence. I don't have to spend an hour on the subway to check my email, I don't have to use a friend's usernames and passwords in Yeshiva University buildings where I don't belong. I merely have to reach over a few inches from my bed. I am now connected through Road Runner. Oddly, that solution turned out to be cheaper than using my free connection to NYU Dialup. I would have had to pay Verizon $225 to install a phone line in this room that I will only be living in until mid-August.
So, why didn't I blog in the first fourteen hours I had Internet again? Well, I was catching up on all sorts of things: news, email, soc.history.what-if, friends' blogs, IM conversations, and writing some entries (the Mexican states of Chiapas, Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Michoacán de Ocampo) in what is becoming one of my favorite hobbies, my developing etymological dictionary of placenames. I am having a very good IM conversation right now with Stan about philosophy, cognitive science, the past (mostly individual), the future (both individual and global), and all the other usual topics. I may talk about some of these issues in an upcoming blog.
