Rules

First and Foremost: Do NOT ask for an EA account in this community. If you do, not only will your ad be deleted, but you will be banned from posting here. I will not have this community suspended by Blurty because you can't read the Terms and Conditions that Blurty has set up here.

1. Get a journal with blurty. You can use a character journal or your personal journal.

2. Post ONLY about RPGs, not what you did on Saturday night. Post about new ones or ones that need to be revived but do not make fifty posts about the same one. NO PRIVATE ROLE PLAYING ADS HERE!

3. The info that would be nice to post is what journal it's on (UJ, LJ, DJ, Blurty, etc.), what it's basically about (AU, celebrity, etc.), and who to contact about joining.

4. Please use correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation in your posts.

5. All RPG communities are welcome to be advertised except for ones involving tragedies such as Colombine, Holocaust, Matthew Shepard, among many others.

6. Do NOT diss another community on here. If you do, your ad will be erased. We're not here to hate each other. There's a group on here that hates us enough as it is. Also, do not diss others and threaten to give out OOC information about another role player. That just breaks an unwritten rule in role playing. Someone wants to stay anonymous, don't tell everyone who they are.

7. Do not post the name of your community incessantly because that's annoying and your ad will only be erased.

8. No more than two ads in a row for your community. It's kind of annoying to see three ads for the same community in a row. I will delete the one that has no comments (or the least comments). It's just annoying.

9. Do not take off the comment feature on your ad. Just makes you look suspicious.

THE PLOT

It is a land divided by past events, it's history filled with conflict between the four races that call Azzaria it's home. That was until recently; one of the rulers has decided that peace is needed and has contacted the other races. Alliance through marriage and trade deals are now on the hands. This RPG tells the story of those who support the notion of peace, and those who oppose it...

The Celts :: The Celts are a simple folk, quite the opposite of their Imperial neighbours. Some are farmers and warriors by trade, only having knowledge of war and survival. The younger generations have become more diverse, but the elder Celts remain stuck in their ways. Celts are known for their stubbornness, which is probably why men and women are at equal standings in their society; neither would willingly back down! Despite being simple and less extravagant, they are intelligent and are loyal to the bone. They are firmly against magic, believing it to be unnatural for anyone other than the Gods to have such power.

The Imperials :: The Imperials believe in freedom of spirit, and follow no religion or belief system. To them, following one's desires and emotions is the most important thing in life. Their race specialises in magic and knowledge, and cherishes beauty. They have a formidable army which they consider superior to other races. There is a downside to all the freedom and following ones emotions; Imperials are quick to anger, holding grudges for long periods of time. They do not forget past wrongs done to their family line, which often turns Daeria into a political battleground. Treachery is normal, as are wagers and people going where the money is rather than doing the right thing.

PLOT:
Our game is set in the Nolanverse storyline. It takes place during the events of The Dark Knight, yet elements of Batman Begins are still present: R'as Al Ghul is alive, the League of Shadows lives on, and Jonathan Crane has yet to be caught by the Batman. Sal Maroni has taken control of the Falcone Crime family after the former leader's mental breakdown in Arkham Asylum.

The Batman, having taken the law into his own hands, has gradually been lowering the amount of crime in the city and at the same time has inspired the people and the justice department to take action against the mob. The head of the Gotham City Police Department, Commissioner Gordon, has been going after the mob's life savings using marked bills in the mob banks, yet the crime families continue to be evasive. The police department is still corrupted, and a new crime syndicate lead by the chaotic Joker has stepped into the game, hired by the mob to take out the Batman. In the peak of this madness, the beloved district attourney, Harvey Dent, has been missing in action. Some believe him to be dead or captured, while others suspect that he has taken up vigilantism.

Some believe that restoring Gotham City to a prestine and safe place is impossible, and for good reason. Despite the change that has been taking place, the city is still rotting away at it's core. The slums and sewers have become a nest of the city's worst thugs, and the mob's influence over the businesses and businessmen of Northside Gotham City has corruptted more successful and powerful individuals.

New faces have made themselves known and have brought chaos and fear into the city along with them. Those dangerous men and women who do not ally with the mob are sometimes driven to conspire against them and work in violent, bloody operations to tear them down. Yet blood on the streets, even the blood of ruthless villains, is one thing the Batman cannot let lie. Even if the vigilantes strive to rid Gotham of it's worst villains, Batman knows he must rid the streets of their violence as well if there will ever be peace again in this city.

This action has made him unpopular among the most dangerous of men. And as such has put the people he knows and loves at risk. Things are worse than ever in Gotham City. It has become a more dangerous place then one could imagine.

The night is darkest before the dawn. And Gotham stands now in it's darkest hour...



We are currently looking for members who are willing to play canon Batman characters. Fan characters are welcome, but we would like to get a good handful of canon characters first before we start roleplaying. Please keep this in mind.

When great Cronus was freed from his prison in Tartarus, it is said that he accepted his position as the king of the Elysian Islands, home of the blessed dead with humble dignity.
But secretly he plotted.

Ares, god of war, had always eyed the throne of his father with cautious ambition. The only thing greater than his bloodlust and the love he had of women was that lust that silently grew in his heart over the one thing he knew he could never truly have.

Not until the opportunity presented itself. And Cronus was only too happy to supply that.
Plotting and scheming, he stood behind as Ares raised his forces, and they, together with the ruling Titan brothers of old, toppled the rule of almighty Zeus and imprisoned those who had stood in their way down in Tartarus. Those who helped them fight, however, were rewarded. There was nothing to stop the titans' rule. No one could stand in their way now.

But fate would turn against those who had supported the cause of the titans, as well. Gentle Rhea had acted before, and she would act again to protect her progeny and those who had come from them. Secretly, with help of the Fates, she freed the gods, placing them in mortal bodies, having them born into mortal families with mortal parents. And when word spread to those gods who had fought with the titans, she sent them all to the mortal plane as well.

Magic, Politics...

In an alternative of the modern world, Faeries exist. In the 1800's they were invited to the USA by the President, where they did not need to lose their traditions or mingle with the humans. However, they did lose a lot of their magic due to the Wieldings. There was also one condition; peace. The Seelie, the court of light, and the Unseelie, the dark court, had to agree to peace. As far as the USA are concerned that peace was found... In reality there was never peace. The two courts stopped warring but assassinations and plots continued, as did the animosity between the Courts. Both Monarchs recognised the consequences of their actions and have sought to find a truce between the Courts.

A betrothal between a Seelie Princess and an Unseelie Prince... will either survive long enough to produce a child and seal their marriage?

& Faeries....?!

The Sidhe are the most human looking of all the fey. Their hair can be any colour, and some Sidhe have patterns of leaves or flowers in their hair, while others have hair that looks/feels like metalic substances. They have tri-coloured eyes and luminous skin. Shades of skin include pale white, black (true black, not dark brown), pastel shades, brown, and tanned (known as sun-kissed, a rare colour in the Seelie Court). Seelie Sidhe generally have creamy or golden skin and ligher, more vibrant shades of hair colour. Unseelie Sidhe have paler or darker skin. Since they accept Sidhe that are exiled from the Seelie Court, members of the Unseelie court have a range of hair colours. The traditional Unseelie shades are black, red and other 'darker' colours.

All Sidhe are willowy and taller than the average human. They are also physically stronger and breed slower than humans. They are magical beings (see here) who specialise in glamour and have hands of power.

NEEDED CHARACTERS:


• Seelie Princess - The Eldest daughter of the Queen (a thousand or so years old), she has a different father (deceased) to her sister Bryanna. She is the accepted heir of the Queen, and is more powerful politically and magically (her hands of power make her a dangerous opponent in duels) than her sister, and is thus, more favored by the Seelie Nobles. She is beautiful, charming, arrogant and knows her worth. She is married and has an adult son.

• Seelie King/Queen's Consort - The father of Bryanna and current Consort of the Queen.Please see the Player Requests page for more details.

• Guards, Lords, Ladies & Nobles - We need more of these characters to fill up both Courts.

•Like causing trouble? - We need some trouble causing, anti-betrothal Sidhe in both Courts to stir something up. These characters can be Guards, Nobles or Lords/Ladies of a House. Maybe even a whole House - you could begin a House that is plotting against the betrothal.

Like vampires, but have trouble finding a good fandom or game for it? Why not check out A New Rising then? We are supposed to be a relaxed, mostly freeform (all big plots have to be checked by me first) forum RPG with no greater purpose than to have fun RP:ing whenever you feel like it. We have a detailed background lined out for the vampire society, an alternative plot featuring werewolves to give some more options for characters you can play, and have tweaked the setting so canons from the third movie also can attend.

We are also on a freehost that does not exercise too strict censorship, so no risk for deletion without a warning as long as everyone play by the rules. The plot type is mostly freeform - all big events has to be checked with me first though, and I've added a extra plot featuring werewolves now also having a reason to wanna dust some vamps. Why? 'Cause I just like werewolves with vampires. =3

We're rather lax in the sense of that you're not required to attend any more plotting than you wish, when you have time and serious in the sense that we sort of like our members to be able to spell and not act like asshats.         The Forgotten is a very special Kingdom Hearts roleplay that is designed for the older RPer who wishes for the intensity of a chat RP, but does not want to spend long hours watching a chatroom. The story begins the moment Sora steps foot inside Castle Oblivion. It will be an alternate universe look at what happened during Chain of Memories, although there will be many canon elements and tidbits from Kingdom Hearts 2 to be found as well.

        This premise may sound sketchy, however this is a very plot driven storyline that is scheduled to end within two months of its launch date on December 1st, 2005. Further information is being kept vague on purpose so that the story won't be spoiled. There is only one thing you need to know:

        Your character may be real or not, and you won't know the truth until the very end.

        At the moment, all characters are open for auditioning. We offer competitive placement for muns who wish to audition, which means that we will review every application from now until November 25h, 2005 and hold off on deciding who gets to RP the character until that day. Created characters are not accepted, which I apologize in advance for. Also note that we have a 2 day posting requirement and an age limit of 18 years or older.

        Although the storyline is not scheduled to begin until December 1st, 2005, there will be a training period from November 25h, 2005 - 31st so that all of our new members can get the hang of the roleplay rules that are defined in the Community Roleplay Guidelines.

        It is highly recommended that you read both the Community Information page and the Community Roleplay Guidelines before deciding if this is the right storyline for you.

When Voldemort rose the first time, the world stood opposed, and eventually, through skill and luck and even the use of treachery, brought him down. But the first time Voldemort fell, he created a prophecy out of the child that was his undoing - Harry Potter.

When Voldemort rose again, Harry Potter was the witness who survived their encounter. He was the one to bear the news back to a world that did not want to believe that the man who had created the Death Eaters and who plunged their world into war without even a thought of consequences could live again. The world denied it, for a time.

Eventually, the world fought him. It was a war that was half unseen; the Muggles knew that things were different, but they did not know why. The second rise of Voldemort was written only in histories that were secret to Muggles, the ones they did not know, did not even suspect the existence of. They suffered and bled and died for a world they knew nothing of.

When Voldemort fell the second time, the wizarding world breathed a sigh of relief. This time, they told themselves, he was incontrovertibly dead, there could be no question. The world moved on. A party atmosphere hung over Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and the innumerable smaller wizarding sections of the cities of Europe. A corresponding gloom and quiet hung over Knockturn Alley - but nobody cared.

The first fall of Voldemort created a prophecy and paved the way for years of suffering and military mobilisation unseen for centuries - for this was the first time there had been no Muggle war at the same time.

The second fall of Voldemort created injustice. Those who were unfairly punished, those who went unpunished, those who were treated with the slight superiority that winners show to losers, those were the ones who felt the injustice.

Their Lord is rising again.

They have no reason to stop him.

The winners have no weapon to fight him.

There have been riots reported with the name "Lord Voldemort" shouted in the crowds. Who is Lord Voldemort? Is he responsible for the killings, tortures, and disappearances?

The Order of the Phoenix knows. And they are recruiting members. But their cause is fruitless, and they aren't the only ones looking for strength in numbers.

Night Blooming Flowers is a play by email RPG played in a yahoo! group. It is a Jacqueline Carey RPG which uses all original characters and is set a few years after the events of the book 'Kushiel's Avatar'. While characters will be aware of the tales of the characters from the books and may know some of the characters, canon characters will not be played in this RPG. The RPG focuses on the lives of the Servants of Naamah and their patrons, other types of characters may be avaliable to play at a later date depending on how well the RPG goes. There is no need to have read her books because all need-to-know information is on the website.

- Plot -

Terre D'Ange, the blessed land of Elua and his companions, is home to the D'Angelines. They hold many beliefs true to their heart due to Elua and his companions and one is the tradition of the Servants of Naamah. Each house of the Night Court (the Courtesan Guild of Terre D'Ange) has a different story to tell about Naamah. Some say she did it for a wager, others that she did it for the pleasure of her victims. What they all have in common though is that they all believe that Naamah lay down with strangers for coin to support Elua and so they serve Naamah through the art of pleasure.

There are thirteen Houses in the Night Court and they each foster the most beautiful children. At the age of 10 a child can choose to serve Naamah and when they become of age they begin to take patrons through assignations.

Step into the fantasy world of Terre D'Ange, where no modern technology is to be found. Are you a servant of Naamah or a patron? That is your decision.

Please note - Terre D'Ange is the equivalent to the 1600's, so there is nothing in the way of modernity.

The RPG is loosely based on L.J.Smith's Night World book but many of our members have never read the books and are able to RP perfectly well.

The RPG revolves around a species called the Tempests. Loosely based on L.J.Smith's Night World books, they are a species that has the combined powers of witches, vampires and shapeshifters. This means that they have telepathy and mind control abilities, along with magic and control over an element and they can shapeshift into one bird and one animal. Want to play a Tempest?

Despite being almost immortal, the Tempests are disliked by members of the Night World. They have either meddled in their affairs or their power has made them jealous. The Kisses of Lethe Hunters have various aims; hurt and kill the Tempests, and investigate them. Formed by Aurek Balder, they are constantly looking for new recruits. Interested?

The RPG is based in New York City and of course, the hunters and the Tempests aren't the only people there. If you're not interested in playing either of those, we're always open to human and Night World characters. These characters can now be completely independant and have no attachments to hunter or Tempest characters.

Who we are:

Sixth year, GJ based trio-era game with a plot scheduled six months in advance and room for subplot to fit in. Very active, no OC's, and lots of room for improvement, ideas and comments. We hold OOC chats every night to talk things in the game through, ask/answer questions and just generally have a laugh. We're a relatively new game but a lot has gone on. Any questions you would like answered before you apply or if you're thinking of applying, I'll gladly give you answers to. What we want:

Dedicated roleplayers who know their characters as well as their canon and use it in a good way. We like good spelling, good grammar and enjoy reading through longer applications. We are elite in the sense of not accepting players who cannot write but not in the sense of ultimate bitchery. We welcome anyone and everyone here, all we ask is that you understand your characterisation and play nicely once you're accepted. OOC drama is something that is not tolerated at all; our players have lives, they don't take gaming THAT seriously. Anyone who starts malicious messages or IM's to our players without good reason will be removed. All of us like writing logs and entries so you can poke us for storylines any time you like and talk us through any reasoning behind things you'd like to bring to the game. If you are worried about your character not having a place in the game then talk to us as we need characters for lots of different reasons and complicated plot in the near future.

SNITCHING
And this is very important! If you join our game and something bad happens in real life but you want your character held - e-mail, comment or IM us with the word "Snitch". It saves you going through any horrid details. We will hold your character for as long as you need but you are agreeing to let us NPC them if we need them for plot and you are not back. If you don't return after 2 months, the place will be readvertised as we cannot hold onto characters forever. Similarly though, if a friend of yours joins us and has a problem but can't get online - you can even Snitch for them, just make sure you know who they play and we'll let them know their character is on hold via e-mail at pottersrevenge@hotmail.co.uk.

Each family is now sacrificing everything they once held dear, including the children they bore long before this war even began.

Bradley has killed Terry Boot for not becoming a Death Eater... Blaise, Draco's best friend, has betrayed Draco by joining the Order... Another massive breakout from Azkaban has occured, all have returned... Malfalfa Hopkirk was killed that night as well... Hogwarts has closed, and become a safe haven for any who don't wish to fight... Lupin has found Voldemort in his true form, but he now remembers nothing...

The Knaves: According to the Chinese calendar, 1977 is the year of the snake. However, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it is the Year of the Lion. Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs have sworn to make their last few years at Hogwarts memorable. From turning Severus Snape into the greasy blond Lucius clone he probably dreams of being, to serenading Lily Evans from class to class with off-key renditions of Muggle songs, to roller-skating into the Great Hall wearing nothing but animal masks, it's a good chance that they might succeed.

The Queens: The Black females have decided to honour tradition and keep the year more in tune with its avatar. By accident or design, the administration has decided to give Bellatrix Black the Prefect's Badge, and she's determined to make full use of it, serving up her own brand of mischief that borders on the deadly kind. Meanwhile, still reeling from the ultimate betrayal of their older sister, Narcissa is grimly determined not to follow in Andromeda's footsteps, no matter how much she disapproves of her parents' match, whoever that might be.

The Kings: Do you plan to stand aside and let them be? Or would you like to make some memories of your own? Reign over the cards, and try not to get burned in the process.

Over a thousand years ago, Hogwarts was not founded. Other schools, without example, never reached their full potential. With the lack of institution, magic became mere tradition, then drifted into myth over time. Science and theologies took over as the Reasons Things Are. By the twentieth century, magical blood still pulsed through the population, but hardly anyone knew that they had it. There was never any Wizarding War. There was never any Voldemort.

The story of magic picks up in the year 2005. A group of boys known as the Marauders are in their fourth year at Bradfield College. For all the havoc they've wreaked, they've never solved the hauntings spoken of by years past. Then again, the hauntings were just stories - until April 17th, when five ghosts mysteriously and simultaneously appeared on the grounds. Now the magically aware staff must work to find what could have caused the incident, and how to deal with students who grow more curious about magic with each passing day.

As the veil of myth slowly dissolves, fates will be realized, and magic will have its way with the world. The names Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin will be pulled from the dust of history as their forgotten legacies are roused. Those with magical potential will be drawn into the approaching conflict. Who will take up the challenge? What will the outcome be? After all of magic's betrayals, will the characters be able to carry on in blind faith?

Aethonan is based upon the Harry Potter Trio’s 18th year, meaning that this is 1998. The war did not begin until the end of their 7th year, as forces needed to get gathered. It has been very slow to actually start, as no one wanted to make the first move in what would be a reality changing war. Voldemort has unfortunately been allowed to gather support, but this had to be as the other side needed to also gain a steady support. As you may guess, Voldemort’s rise back into power is now known throughout the wizarding world. He has also found a body to embrace him as well that of...

Almost everyone now has a known side, and some of the decisions people have made have been surprising. The Ministry of Magic says that it fully backs Dumbledore and Harry. This is after Cornelius Fudge was pushed out of the position of Minister due to questionable alliances. In his place now is Griselda Marchbanks. However, there are still members who are not to be trusted that hold sway within this organization.

At Hogwarts, McGonagall is basically running the school, as Dumbledore has had to take an extended leave. Now that Harry Potter is not actually in school, Hogwarts it is a much safer place for the rest of the students, though Dumbledore still worries continuously about his students.

Now as meetings are held, both privately and generally, the war erupts after Malfalda Hopkirk is found dead with her wand burnt into her hand, the night that Voldemort frees all of his followers from Azkaban, except Pettigrew whom he kills. It is October 1998. The war has finally begun, for better or worse. There is no going back now.

Currently it is Tuesday, September 13th, 1998 in the chat. Two days after the massive escape from Azkaban.

[Picture Perfect is an upcoming, About My Life based, slash rpg, mainly for alternative and rock musicians. It won’t be fully open till sometime in March, but we figured that creating a community to draw in members early would be cool so that you can create your journals, get settled and start off freshly as soon as we launch the RPG.

We are looking for new players, as mentioned before preferably artists from the alternative and rock genre.
