I've been shamed lately. I always thought Creflo Dollar was an ok preacher. Sure, every now and again there would be somethin I disagreed with, but no pastor is perfect, right?
I would get up on Sunday mornings to watch his program and would always find myself challenged somehow by his show. Sure, I often disagreed with his wife, on quite large accounts, but it's not like they have an undiscerning audience, right?
Until I heard of this fallacy.
Horses beget horses.
Flies beget flies.
Therefore Gods beget gods, and we are gods.
But we were not produced sexually. And if we are still gods, even though God created us, and did not sex us into life, would that not mean that everything in all creation - animals, time, light, water, everything - would that not make everything a god?
A re reading of Genesis is necessary. And an awareness of the fact that horses produce poo. Flies produce maggots. Humans produce rubbish.
Why gods? Why not poo, why not maggots, why not rubbish?
The little gods theory is poorly constructed.
But I don't want to be one of those people who just criticizes everyone else..
I must say that alittleleaven.com definitely is thought provoking, but I have to wonder, what are these people doing about mission?
