After brunch, we go "hiking". Actually, we drive to a reservation and buy cheap stuff made in Taiwan from the Indian Trading Post. I get a silver ring with a bunch of pretty stones in it, a post card, and some other stuff. After we eat some popsicles, we walk down a little path until we get to a little picnic spot where we rest. Give us a break, it's like 110ยบ. Cecily takes a picture of us, and afterwards I remind her not to put her fingers over the lens. She complains she can't see them when she's looking through the viewfinder.

She shot her whole roll of film with her finger over the lens. Good job, Cecy.

Then we get in the car and drive to another little hiking trail and look at little spiders on the surface of the water while Mom and Julie explore. Abby helps me walk back and forth over a little waterfall... I didn't fall in, either. ^-^ When they get back, we get in the car and go to Moorten's Botanic garden, a place I went last time I was in Palm Springs.

I cannot even BEGIN to describe to you how fucking cool this place is. There's a dog, Halley, a big pen full of tortoises, dove nests EVERYWHERE, and a huge cage for ring-tailed doves and temple doves... $20 per bird. They sell hundreds of cacti, and there are thousands of different plants all over the place. There are fossils, floating rocks, dinosaur footprints... Everything! Even the guy there is really cool, and since Abby and Cecily are too lazy to get out of the car, I stay and talk to the guy, Clark, I believe, for about half-an-hour. What amazes me so much is the hummingbirds. The feeders are strategically placed around the area, and the birds buzz right past your ear too land on the feeder. They even fight each other for territory, right in front of us. They even LAND ON YOUR FINGER. And they're tiny, like a thimble. Then Cecily, Abby, Mom, and Julie moan at me to get in the car to go to Starbucks, so I sadly say goodbye, get in the car with a cactus, and off we go to Starbucks for the 7th time in 4 days. Sad, I know. We stop along the way to get a meal at Togos and a Mexican Restaurant, and the sky is covered with clouds and rain... This was a sight we missed I guess, because I felt really happy to be almost home.

And then we were home. I hugged Stella and Stan, ran into my room and kissed Tenshi, and flopped on my bed.

Life was good.
