It's been six years on this journal. There is nothing more that I want to write here anymore.
This blog has now moved. Thank you for reading, commenting, loving, hating or being indifferent. It's been worth its while.
I'd like to end with a fragment from a poem by Lovecraft, the part that appears as an epigraph to "The Haunter of the Dark", which as the editor's notes inform me, was written "in the sinister small hours of the black morning after Hallowe'en" and first published in the Vagrant, June 1918. The story is dedicated, by the author, to Robert Bloch.
I have seen the dark universe yawning Where the black planets roll without aim, Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name.

ARS BREVIS
There is one art, no more, no less: to do all things with art- lessness.
ASTRO-GYMNASTICS Do-it-yourself grook
Go on a starlit night, stand on your head, leave your feet dangling outwards into space, and let the starry firmament you tread be, for the moment, your elected base.
Feel Earth's colossal weight of ice and granite, of molten magma, water, iron, and lead; and briefly hold this strangely solid planet balanced upon your strangely solid head.
THE UNATTAINABLE IDEAL
We ought to live each day as though it were our last day here below.
But if I did, alas, I know it would have killed me long ago.
- Piet Hein

On your way from SV Road towards Mahim, there are usually people standing holding some sort of a poster as a promotional gimmick for some company or the other. For blue umbrella, there was a chain of people standing on the sidewalk with blue umbrellas. Today, there were a bunch of midgets standing at the same place holding the BPL Mini validity poster.
This observation has nothing to do with anything, except I found the BPL gimmick rather idiotic.

- GUI design is painfully cumbersome. - Joesphine broke a glass today. - The next dog I adopt will be named Annie. Just so I can go, "Annie in kutton ke saamne mat naachnaa!" every time she goes around flirting with the dogs in the neighbourhood while the current song plays in the background. - I can also come up with some inane and curious title to her biography ala In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones. - I have lost all patience for gossip. It makes my stomach turn at times; so do a lot of other things, but that's a long list.

Some days flow smooth like water over a pebble Some glide, like an eagle over the hill Some seem to never end. They last, until a hand covers the sun and hides the day like a spark in night's dark fists, burning away.

For the lack of anything substantial to update, this post is dedicated to yet another splurge at Landmark (The bookstore that kicks Crossword's shiny ass IMHO):
- The Cult of the Amateur: The introduction had me grinning all the way to the next book shelf. Couldn't have not picked it up. - The Long Tail: Wrote a crappy assignment on it at MICA. Might's well read the book was the thought. - The Penguin Book of Modern Indian Speeches (1877 to the Present): Has some really fascinating ones and was available at a discount. - Blink: A supposed good read 'n all of that. - The Call of Cthulhu and other Weird Stories: This one was long overdue.
Also got The Eraser and The Johnny Gaddar soundtrack. The former still needs to grow on me. The latter has been written about here
The daily horoscope for the next few days will be as follows: Ganesha says, lack of sleep will lead to bad headaches, irritability and eventual homicide.
One would think living right next to a hospital will grant one some immunity to the horrendous drum noises outside. But one is wrong because one is stupid.
Thank Goodness (should I say?) for Abida Parveen and headphones.
