-Actions Speak Louder Than Words-
“Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” - 1 John 3:18
Here lately, I’ve noticed myself telling people one thing and doing the total opposite. It’s cool that God put this verse in my heart. It goes right along with my situation. One of my friends from church always liked hanging around with me, (no matter what I was doing).
He got on my nerves a lot, but I didn’t say anything, because I knew it would hurt his feelings. It was hard though, to balance conversations when he was around when my other friends were present also. At church, when it was just him and I, everything would be cool and okay.
But it was like as soon as I got in school or with other people, I wouldn’t talk to him or show any relationship between us at all. I had told him that he was my friend when we would talk personally, but I noticed that in public it was a different story.
Sometimes I would show him friendship, but when I did… it was with words. I can’t ever remember ever showing him with actions. A lot of times it is hard to show love with actions. I know that it’s easier to say a few nice words than it is to do a few nice deeds. The problem is, God wants us to go the distance.
He wants us to be different. God doesn’t want us to just use words to show love. He gave us the ability to show love in action also. God didn’t just use words when He said He cared about us. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins to take our place. God showed amazing love and grace. He did it for a specific reason. He did it for us. So, tell others about Jesus and if you have to - USE WORDS!!!
